Show "The Woman's Touch" BEAUTY It all began eons ago in the Garden of Eden, where a snake looked around for someone to talk to. It was not Adam but Eve, the lady of the garden, whom the snake chose because he found Eve subtle, eager and much more curious than her Adam. But no sooner had the lady of the garden fallen for the new-fangled apple (there are those who say that the snake won the argument when he told Eve that the apple was good for her complexion), then she turned on her persuasive persua-sive feminine charms and said to Adam: "Take a bite, dear, it's good for you!" and we read that Adam promptly ate thereof. Whether or not we believe the story of the Garden of Eden, one thing is certain. Ever since then, Eve has had tremendous power over Adam and her whole family. It is always Eve who tries new things first; her curiosity about better ways of living is greater than her man's. And so, thousands of years after the famous episode in the Garden of Eden, I address myself directly to you, Eve. Time and again you have stepped up to your mirror asking the ancient question: "Mirror, mirror on the wall, Who is the fairest one of aU?" Often your mirror tells you that you are not so beautiful as you would like to be. But does it also tell you that you can be beautiful? I say this with confidence even though you say that your nose is too long, your mouth too wide, your forehead too high or low for ideal beauty. Of all the great beauties of history, there was probably not one whose features were perfect ! No doubt, you have on your dressing table a full assortment of beauty products, which you use diligently, and cosmetic articles that help you to look your best. But I am not talking about beauty that comes off at night. I am talking about your individual kind of beauty. Real beauty is a combination of many qualities. Womans beauty is not imprisoned im-prisoned by her skin; it permeates per-meates her entire home, creating warmth, love and harmony, and often it radiates radi-ates far beyond her own four waUs. The one great facture in beauty is happiness. Happiness Happi-ness brings a glow to the skin, brightness to the eyes, a spring to the step, and grace to the body. i |
