Show INTEREST REVIVED IX UINTAH BASIN OIL FIELDS The Home Oil company, which but recently was organized by Ogdcn men, has taken over the Western Venture No. 2 well that is being put down near Vernal, on a fifty-fifty basis, and has guaranteed completion comple-tion to a depth of two thousand. The Home Oil also has acquired: approximately ap-proximately two thousand acres additional ad-ditional on the Vernal monocline. The Western Venture No. 2 well, also known as .the Spahr No. 1, ;cow Is down to a depth o twelve hundred and seventy-five. E. O. Rhiuesmith, who holds the contract for complet-! ing the hole, reports that indications are favorable for porduction In the iievt three hundred feet. There ia considerable oil showings and gas at the present depth. The Western Ven-tureNo. Ven-tureNo. 1, which Is near the Spahr, is drilling in the red-beds which overlie over-lie the principal oilbearing sands of the structure. A gas pressure of two hundred and forty pounds to the square inch and a seven-foot oil saturated sat-urated sand were found, at tbirtee;i hundred. Commercial oil is exported export-ed with another hundred to two hundred deptb. The Colorado-Utah Oil company's Neal dome test, it Pennsylvania .formation, situated five miles north of Vernal, has resumed drilling after several weeks' delay on account ot a fishing job. The tools were recovered the past week and a new line secured. The hole 5 bottomed at fifteen hundred and ten feet, and from the showing of oil and gas it is believed they are very elose to the first sand. The main one. Pennsylvania, will be four.3 at about twenty-three hundred feet. |
