His remarks on safety and accident prevention, as well as his of interpretation the new Federal Mine Safety Code, were well received by the membership present. Mr. West-fiel- d also commended the local officers of the Eastern Utah Mines Rescue Organization for what has been done in this district, stating we are far in advance of other coal mining areas throughout the United States. While the production, of coal in the State of Utah is small in comparison with other coal producing states, the quality of men employed in the mining industry in this section cannot be questioned.
