This year, as a result of the entrance into the first grade of the first crop of war babies, the first grade enrollment is considerably above that of previous years and the census of the children indicates that further Increases in first grade enrollment will result. The only solution of the problem is to provide more rooms for the housing of these kiddies. Some additional critical situations exist which need to be rectified. At the Helper Junior high, no provision has been made for physical educational program, for home making, or for space for a music program. The Board of Education Is renting from Helper. City the city gymnasium which is approximately half a mile from the school. This arrangement is expensive and Inefficiency results from the practice. The only Unto Lt tie erection of ties gymnasium and the provision of enough additional space to house a modern junior high school pro' ' gram. , At Price tEis year there are 61 more first graders than last year, and the amount of this Increase will persist according to the preschool census. One additional first grade was added this year and ail sections are crowded. The last class room has been utilized. There are not enough class rooms to house next years enrollments. The board proposes to enlarge the Southside school by four class rooms, a small assembly room and lunch room, and to erect the first unit of an elementary school in North Price.
