House Construction .The 120 new homes in Dragerton were nearing completion and 65 new homes in Sunnydale were just being started for the Parts company. The coke ovens at the Kaiser-Frazcompany were being put into top working conditions for the opening on May 1. Plans were completed for the new road that would run from the Utah Fuel tipple to the coke ovens over the back way. This would eliminate the heavy wear and tear on the public highways and allow a much straighter route than the present one. Included in the order are one 11BU Joy loading machine, one 10RU Sullivan cutter, two 10SC Joy shuttle cars, Joy loader heads and three 10 ton mine locomotives. These units are all rubber tire mounted except for the fnine locomotives in place of the track mounted; the other equipment in Horse Canyon is all track mounted. This equipment will all go into special sections by itself. Similar type ' of equipment is on order for the Columbia mine and is due to arrive soon. -- The East Carbon Rotary Club has announced tentative plans for its community-wid- e youth program. One of the first items on the program is the gathering of information leading toward the building of a swimming pool in this area. The committee is checking costs .location and other pertinent information necessary before construction can be started. Final details are being worked out on a dance to be held the latter part of May. The proceeds from this dance will be turned over for the youth program. The initial plans for, boys and girls' baseball teams with all members under the age of 14 are being developed for each local area. Leagues are being set. The members of the committee have stated that their program is a very ambitious one. Yet they feel that the recreational needs of the youth are very great, that the problem must be tackled in its entirety if the community is going to give to these youngsters what the youngsters of any well organized and progressive community now have. The committee also feels that East Carbon is a relatively new community with much greater needs - than old established communities. They feel that this is a start toward getting full cooperation of everyone in working out oar community-wide problems.
