March 10, 1956, at 7:30 p.m. The Sunnyside Kiwanis Club is sponsoring the show and have been auditioning talent for the past several weeks. A full program has been planned using only talent from the East Carbon area. It is also planned to have a surprise speciality number. Tickets can be purchased from any Kiwanis member at the auditorium on Saturday, March 10. Donation is $1.00. Come out and see what good talent this area has. Forum-Ulc- ers Ulcers of the stomach and intestines will be the subject for the next Health Forum which will be held March 12 at the Carbon College cafeteria at 8 p.m., according to the Carbon County Extension Service, which is one of the sponsors of these forums. 'The visiting doctor for this panel will be Dr. T. C. Bauerlein of the Clinic, Salt Lake City. He will head the panel. Dr. L. H. Merrill of Hiawatha will be moderatoar. Local doctors for the panel have not yet been appointed. Ulcers are painful, and an increasing number of people are afflicted with this serious disease. This panel is planned to help guard the people of Carbon county against this disease. The Sunnyside Kiwanis club will help with the boxing card. e, Baptist Church News The First Baptist Church of Dragerton has voted to issue a bond in preparation of a new building. Rev. Aubrey Halsel of Memphis, Tennessee, visited the church last week to explain the bond issue. The' Womens Missionary Union held their Mission study Monday night at the Koskie home. They studied the book "The Tribes Go Up. It was a study of American Indians. The WMU met Tuesday night at the church for their Royal Service program. Mrs. Ida Hamilton, program chairman, was in charge of the Royal Service. The WMU will meet each night this week at the church for the Annie Armstrong week of prayer. Wednesday night a pageant will be presented by the Women of the WMU. Everyone is invited to attend. r The Auxiliaries of the Baptist Church met with their respective leaders during the week. ERICKSON Seagoing Marine On the 18th day of February Sgt. Maynard Lindsey Erickson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell O. Erickson, 160 Circle Way, Sunnyside, Utah, has spent 24 months aboard the USS Saint Paul. This completes his two years as a seagoing Marine, a rare experience tc Marines during peacetime. Sg' Erickson, then a private first class, reported aboard the heavy cruiser the 18th of February, 1954, a Naval Shipyard, Bremertop, Wash Now two years later Sgt. Erfckson has made two cruises to the Far East. He visited many ports in Japan, Korea, Formosa, Hong Kong, the Philippine Islands, and Hawaii. He has traveled by land, sea and, air a total of about 50,000 miles. He is now awaiting assignment to a station where he will serve . . . Lee E. Nelson 15 Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, February 1956 Airman Third Class Lee E. Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar C. Nelson, 180 West Geneva Street, recently arrived in Alaska for his assignment with the 58th Wither Reconnaissance Squadron at Eielson Air Force Base, near Fairbanks. As an aircraft mechanic he will help to airkeep the squadrons WB-2- 9 mison their daily planes flying sions far over the Bering Sea and over the desolate ice pack. The information gathered on these flights is quickly transmitted for use in forecasting weather trends in the United States and Canada.
