The Utah State Fair is offering 16 of these blue ribbon awards to entrants. National awards include $500 for the Grand National Champion, the contestant whose article is judged superior to all others, $100 each for the Teen-Ag- e Girl Champion and the Mens Champion. All three champions will receive free trin to New York City. Hundreds of cash prizes will be awarded to other contestants. A crocheter may enter any one or more of the following classifications : Tablecloths, Bedspreads, Luncheon Cloths, Centerpieces, Buffet and Vanity Sets, Chair Sets, Doilies, Scarves and Wall Panels, Pot Holders and Hot Plate Mats, Place Mats, Other Household Accessories, Edgings and Insertions, Fashion' Accessories, Ladies Over 65, Men Only, and Teen-Ag- e Girls. To be eligible for the contest, an entry must be made of mercerized crochet cotton in any thread size up to and including 100. This year, for the first time, mercerized crochet cotton with a metallic strand is acceptable. All entries must have been completed since January 1, 1955, though not necessarily started this year. Any number of articles may be submitted by a crocheter providing that all entries adhere to the rules of the contest. Full details may be obtained from the Fair manager upon request. . National Contest Crochet is synonymous with prizes at the' Utah State Fair where talented men, women and teen-ag- e crocheters will particiin the excitement of the 1955 pate Nationwide Crochet Contest As a result of the preliminary judg-ing- s conducted by the Fair, local crocheters will be able to compete with their fellow needleworkers from all over the United States for over $3000 in cash prizes in the finals of the contest. The finals, to be held in New York City, are open to any who is awarded the special cro-chet- er Posse Readies Plafis 30 and For Big furnish the rodeo stock. A large number of speciality acts are also being contracted in order to give the big show a diversified nature which will be pleasing to alj types of rodeo fans. It has also been announced that the Posse has purchased all new riding equipment and when it makes its public appearance next month in connection with the big show it will be one of the best dressed riding club outfits in the west.
