Number 12 t T Book Cliff Club Tuesday, March 8, a delightful program was enjoyed J)y members and guests of the Book Cliff Club. Vi Thompson and her committee on American Home, consisted of Corilla Stewart, Mae Self, and Amelia Johnson, chose for their program the subject of mental health. Dr. Leland K. Dayton of Price, was the guest speaker and gave some interesting points on why one suffers emotionally, and what diseases are caused from such a strain. Mrs. Evans showed a film on how children, may suffer from parents, suffering from the i t t The Renanah Choral Group to Present Concert The Renanah Choir of Simpson Bible College, Seattle, Washington, as part of its spring activities, will be presenting, a program of.sacrec music . at Dragerton Community Church March .29, ,7 :30 pm. The program features a variety of musical ensembles, both vocal and instrumental. The choir is under the direction of Mr. Russell n Marshall, who is a gospel singer in the Pacific Northwest. The itinerary of the group this year includes Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Idaho, and British Columbia. ' . well-know- A flew Scout Troop A new Boy Scout troop has been formed in East. Carbon, . being sponsored by the Good Shepherd Catholic church of Dragerton. The new troop has an initial membership of 17 boys, 14 being registered as Boy Scouts, and within the three as Explorers " troop. Father J. A. Sanders is the Institutional Representative, with Justin Neumeier as committee chairman, and Val Arambula, Frank Farlaino, Jakie Farlaino, Jerry Hernandez, and H. T. Mur-gph- y as troop committemen. Rudolph Sanich has been appointed as Scoutmaster, with Martin Rodiosh, Jr., and Jimmy Vega as assistants. The Good Shepherd church and Father Sanders are to be commended for their interest in the Boy Scout movement, and with' an adult registration of ten men willing to work with boys, and devote their time to them, a bright future is in store for this troop. . East Carbon Band e The East Carbon band would like to express its thanks to the people who have given time and money to help us build a band that we can all be ccom-mitte- proud of. Our junior high band has been rated as the best in the district. - Gus Fotis Konakis - . t To make this possible many of our citizens and groups gave funds at a time when normal income had taken a very sharp' decline. In spite of this enough donations came in to enable us to purchase well over $1000 worth, of band equipment and supplies. We. have received contributions from the following: Holy Communion at Episcopal Church ' Holy Communion will be celebrated at Trinity Episcopal church at 11 :00 a.m. Sunday. The church school begins at 9:30 a.m. Last week, the Right Reverend Richard S. Watson, Episcopal Bishop of Utah, officiated at the Sacrament of Confirmation, confirming 12 and receiving one who had already received Apostolic confirmation. Those confirmed and received are Mr. and .Mrs. J. G. Tobey, Gary Tobey, Mr. and Mrs. Richard D. Stark, Mrs. James J. Carver, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wardlaw, Lin 5hd Ray Wardlaw, Mr. and Mrs. Craig Justesen and Richard Justesen. The special Lenten services and study continue at Trinity at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Holy Communion is also celebrated at Trinity every Wednesday morning at 9:30 during Lent. A special celebration will also be held at 8 :00 a.m.' Friday, the Feast of the Annunciation. The Trinity Girls Friendly Society continues to meet at 3 :45 p.m. Tuesdays and the Boy Scouts at 7:00 p.m. Thursdays. The Young People's Fellowship will meet again at 7'p.m. Monday, March 28. Survivors are his parents, Columbia; six sisters: Mrs. Athena Kontas, Mrs. Olga Halamandaris; Price; Mrs. Stella Dokos, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Bessie Markos, Ogden; Mrs. Christine Cuatto, Salt Lake City;. The franchise and insurance for the 1955 season have already arrived and sponsors have been secured. The sponsors are: Geneva Coal Company; Keiser Steel Company; Price Elks; Wellington Town Board; Carbon Motorway Arrow Auto Lines; Rich- -' field Auto Parts, and Kraync Motor. Arrow Auto Lines and Kraync Motor are helping sponsor East Carbon Pony League teams for the first time. Arrow Auto Lines is a Price firm operating bus service in Carbon and Emery County. Krayne Motor operates the Nash and Buick sales and service in Price. All boys 13 and 14 years of age are asked to register as soon as possible for the coming season. Even though the boys played last year they must register again. To expedite league affairs this registration must be completed by April 15.
