Show of 26 per cent since: 1950 and 3 Jncreased Income Utahns enjoyed another year of increasing income during 1953 although their per capita income was still below the national average, it was reported in a Utah Foundation Research Brief released today. Using U. S. Department of Commerce data' just published, the brief reported that individual incomes of persons in Utah reached the all-tihigh of $l.l' billion for the 1953 calendar year. This. was an increase me per cent over 1952. The rise in income was led by manufacturing payrolls which increased 11 per cent between 1952 and 1953. Minmg payrools rose 9 per cent while irade and service payrolls and government payments each were 6 per cent above the previous year. The Utah Foundation release noted that the farm income declined smarply (29 per cent) for 1953. Construction payrolls were also reported to be down 5 per cent.
