The game was a pitchers battle up to the sixth " inning with Dragerton leading, 2 to 1. In the sixth Dragerton scored four runs to take a 6 to 1 lead. Price shoved across two runs in the top half of the ninth to make the final score of 6 to 3. Harris pitched good ball allowing Price only four hits. The Dragerton boys rapped out eight The F. Anselmo" and company, Ladies softball team of Sunny-sid- e defeated the A and H Market team by a score of 42 to 2. In the sixth and "one' half inning game the Anselmo girls scored in every inning .except the last. Nellie, Holland pitched steady ball all the way giving up a run in the third and one in the sixth. Among the Anselmo sluggers Ethel Tollis hit three home runs, Inez Lopez, one, Nellie Holland well-play- ed To Hold Lighting Clinic In Salt Lak- e- Direct from the General Electric Companys Lighting Institute at Nela Park, Cleveland, Ohio, a three-da- y lighting clinic will be held in the Coliseum at the Utah state fair grounds in Salt Lake City June 27, 28 and 29. The project will be sponsored locally by Utah Power & Light Company. The purpose, according to W. A. Huckins, sales manager of the power company, is to acquaint specific groups in this .area with the latest information about the fundamentals of seeing, about lighting equipment and applications best suited to the needs of homes, schools, stores, offices and industrial establishments. In addition to electrical people, groups such as merchants, office managers, school administrators, industrialists, womens club memand church organizabers, A tions in this area have been invited to attend various sessions during the. clinic. A total attendance of 2,500 is anticipated. Several pieces of newly built demonstration equipment and displays will be used by General Electric lighting specialists in lectures and demonstrations. Each session of the clinic is designed to fit the requirements of special groups. Not only will talks be altered to suit various audiences, but lighting fixtures and demonstrations in the portable display 'booths will be so adapted. Included in the demonstration facilities being brought to Sait Lake are a miniature school room, a model store, a machine shop and a fundamentals of seeing display. Lighting used in these displays closely simulates the actual conditions which will be described in the discussions. The show is traveling on a nationwide tour, with Salt Lake City as one of the exhibit points. DellaCorte, and James Clare ' Murphy, Ki wanis club of Sunnyside. With few exceptions, the parents are getting behind the Dragerton recreation program in good fashion. During the past week eight hundred swims were had by the boys and girls of Dragerton in the Price pool. Ball games have been going on chiefly on the school grounds. Other grounds will be cleared and layed off this week. Sixteen hundred feet of sewer line was completed from the recreation hall to the city system this week. A good crowd of youngsters attended the story hour at the school house on Wednesday from 10 to 12 noon. There is room for many more to attend. Friday afternoon from 5 to 7 pjn. a good crowd of youngsters enjoyed games and dancing in the school gym. Friday evening all the teen-age- rs of East Carbon enjoyed their regular Friday evening dance. The program for this week; the last week in June, will show further improvements The ball fields will be cleared. A foundation is being put under the recreation hall. Ball games are on each morning at 10:00 a.m. and at 2:00 p.m. Children under thirteen may attend the story hour at the school from 10 to 12 noon on Wednesday. Thursday evening every one may attend a talent show at the school gym. The best talent in Carbon county will be there. Vocal music, instrumental music, tap dancing, reading will help to make this a very pleasing evening," The time again is on Thursday at 8:00 pjn. It is free, being on the recreation program. From the present contracts with Price, Helper and Ogden it is expected that this year will see the highest total of asphalt turned out.
