The film was shown under the direction of Mrs. Mary Black, Utah Power and Light home demonstrator. The East Carbon elementary and junior high schools has an attendance of 95 per cent for the past six weeks term. There are 1100 enrolled at the school. Mr. Allreds eighth grade home room team defeated Mr. Stoddards ninth grade home room team to capture first place in the East Carbon junior high intramural basketball tournament on Wednesday afternoon. Semi finals in the tournament were played off the previous Monday. Girls of East Carbon junior high will have a day at school all their own March 6. Plans for Girls Day include an assembly for students in the morning, another for parents in the afternoon, and a ' tea for the mothers. The assemblies will feature a fashion show by the home economics classes in which the girls will display garments made by the girls. The East Carbon junior high school will exchange studentbody representatives with Price junior high at a date in the near future. The purpose of the exchange is to inform the students of the administrative procedures and activities of the other student-bod- y group. A stake meeting of all LDS bishops and counselors will be held in the Carbon-stak- e house in Price March 2 to discuss the welfare budget for the present year. New Book By Biology Professor Traces U of U Sunnudide Jf ? Dept. History Publication of a new book by a University of Utah faculty member was announced today by university officials. The bock is Life Sciences at the University of Utah by Dr. Ralph V. Chamberlin, 'professor emeritus of the department of biology. Published under the auspices of the Alumni Development Fund and the University Research coommittee, the book traces the background and history of the department of biology on the campus from its beginning to the present. Woven into the book is a detailed account of the university itself with emphasis on the careers of Dr. John R. Park, reorganized of the university in 1869, and Dr. James E. Talmage, still recognized as one of the finest scholars ever to come out of Utah. The book Ls widely illustrated and contains a research and publication record of members of the department of biology, many of whom are recognized authorities in several fields of biological science. Five boys, LeGrande Graham, Jr., Robert Morgan, Wayne Jones, Louie Kinyon and Barton Jensen, met with Mr. Harry Estes last Thursday evening in the Sunnyside library for the purpose of organizing a new boys club. All these boys, and many more, are interested in building model airplanes. Mr. Estes, being quite an expert in this line, has consented to help the boys. The first meeting they got right down to work on models the boys already had. Robert Mitchum, Barbara Bel Geddes, Robert Preston Head Cast of Range War Drama With Romantic Aspects Laid on a western Indian reservation shortly after the Civil war, Blood on the Moon, which will be shown at the Dragerton theatre Thursday and Friday, Robert Mitchum, Barbara Bel Gebbes and Robert Preston in an action laden remantic drama. Mitchum has the role of a wanand Miss Bel dering Gebbes that of a wealthy cattlemans daughter, with Preston as a ruthless adventurer who plots with a crooked, Indian agent to get the cattlemans herds away from him. The puncher hires out as a gunman on Prestons payroll, co-sta- rs but the move he sees of his em- ployers methods the less he likes them, and he decides to quit his job, and leave the country. But Preston wont permit this, and after a bitter quarrel Mitchum joins forces with the cattleman and the cattlemans militant daughter. How he does it makes for the exciting climax of the offering, with Mitchum, trapped with Miss Bel Geddes in a mountain cabin, engagin gin a deadly duel with three of his enemies. One thrilling situation after another blends with he dual romances of the story to make an unusually entertaining piece of screen fare. The three stars are assisted by featured players Walter Brennan as an elderly homesteader; Phyllis Thaxter as Miss Bel Geddes sister, involved in a romance with Preston; Frank Faylen as the Indian agent, and Tom Tully as the cattleman. Theron Warth produced under Sid Rogells supervision and Robert Wise directed, with Lillie Hayward writing the screenplay from Luke Shorts Saturday Evening Post serial.
