Federal inspectors found 23 violations of the federal mine safety code that had not been corrected. - Another bureau inspection in September, 1947, caused Chappell mine of Chappell Coal company, Coalville, to be placed on the dangerous list. Last June, however .inspectors found mine violations had been corrected, giving the mine better ventilation, more thorough rock dusting and other improvements. Bureau of Mines reported that three of the five Utah companies operating mines in which the bureau found disaster hazards have removed the greatest dangers.
