Whatever the case may be, there's still hope. You'll just need a little Martha attitude Stewart can-d- o Suze Orman with a bit of d budget. Here's a few ideas to get you can't-spen- started. So you want to be scary. Good news. Scary outfits are usually easiest it's often all in the because face. Whether you want to be a witch, a vampire or a zombie, it will be the makeup that finishes the look. Wardrobe i T i'l Grab last year's outfit that doesn't fit quite right anymore or is just out of style. If you're not one to hang on to clothes, you'll probably want to make a trip to Deseret Industries. Destroy that outfit without making it unwearable. Rip holes. Take it outside and make it look muddy by misting it with some brown and black spray paint. Make it look bloody with some dark red spray paint, which can be cheaper and easier to control than the fake blood you'll find at the Halloween store. If you're going for a classy, creepy look, you won't have to look past i your Sunday outfit; just keep it dark. Suits, ties, dresses they'll all work for that regal witch or vampire. Just be careful not to get makeup on them. Hair You'll never have an easier time doing your hair. Grab whatever product you've got on hand and mess your mane. Make it look like you've been buried or bricked up in a wall for 10 years. If you're leaning toward a sleek vampire look, dampen your hair and slick it back with a fine-toot- h comb. Set in place with your product, and you're good to go. T al e blood recipe Woid to the warning: Fake blood is red, and no matter what your recipe, ted usually stains. Students put their taste buds to the test to judge the best fries in town Thursday when Dixie Sim News conducted a blind taste test on the Diagonal. The test offered students four selections of french fries from burger joints located around town. Those restaurants included Smash-buge- r, Apollo Burger, Five Guys Burgers & Fries, and Larsens Frostop Drive-IWhile a clear winner won students over with its potato-ski- n fries, another took a harsh loss. Out of the 60 students higher-en- d n. who participated in the taste test, only 5 percent said they favored Apollo Burgers fries. Larsens Frostop Drive-I- n came in third with 16.5 percent. Smashburger landed in second place with 28.5 percent. As for first place, Five Guys Burgers & Fries stole most participants' taste buds with 50 percent. Similar to what the results illustrate, many students pointed to Smashburgers shoe string french fries and said theyd be their second choice, due to their salty flavor and crunch. However, many favored Five Guys' french fries because of their distinct taste and authentic appearance. Five Guys' fries are cooked in pure peanut oil and are sliced and served with the potato skins intact. Shawn Huff, a sophomore engineering major from St. George, chose the Five Guys serving as his favorite, saying he prefers fries with a more homemade, natural taste. g I like the fries because I feel like Im eating a potato, not a processed fry, he said. Huff then glanced at Larsens crinkle-cu- t fries and said he didnt favor them because they seemed more like the frozen fries one typically buys at the grocery store. As for the crinkle fries, I think theyre a little too processed, he said. Ashley Gilmour, a freshman elementary education major from Santiago, Chile, said she also favors fries of unprocessed nature, but she chose Smashburgers fries due to their crunch factor. Where I come from, fries potato-lookin- are always made fresh for you right there, and they usually dont look like fries here, Gilmour said. They look just like potato chips almost. . .But Ive always liked thinner, crunchier fries. Gilmour, like many students, said she disliked Apollo Burgers fries due to their lack of crunchiness and bland taste. Many said they were just too fat and squishy with nothing special to make them stand out from the other choices. However, Huff said all flies have potential to be savory, as long as prepared. theyre properly Thats what really matters when youre eating a fly, he said. Lego Marvel Super Heroes is the latest in the Lego game saga. It features not only the Avengers, but also many other Marvel super heroes, including Spiderman and the Fantastic Four. After playing all of the Lego games in the Harry Potter and Lord of The Rings series, of course I had to play this one, as well. Plus, it's a superhero game, which d and means it's frill of twists and turns. Lego Marvel Super Heroes is set up similarly to all of the other Lego games in the way that the point of the game is to complete episodes using a combination of abilities. Each character does something different. Some use fire, others use ice and some, like Spiderman, have superhuman powers. In one episode, your team is the Hulk, Iron Man and Spiderman. Your mission is to complete tasks and defeat the Sandman, who has taken over Grand Central Station. Different characters can only interact with certain items, which give the game a puzzle-solvin- g element. There are times when you have to lift things like cars and trains as the Hulk and other times where you have to blow up silver Legos as Iron Man. Lego Marvel Super He- roes has the same graphics as the previous games, just slightly upgraded. There isnt much that can be done to change the graphics considering the game is built of Legos and because of tire blocky quality. However, the picture is a little bit clearer and slightly less pixilated than other Lego games' graphics. There is also more movement around the environment than the previous games, which is something I always look for in a new game. The controls on Lego Marvel Super Heroes vary in difficulty from character to character. Characters like the Hulk are easy to control with simple button combinations for moves to smash, grab and throw items. Others, like Iron Man, are a little more difficult, and in the time I spent playing, I couldnt figure out any button combination to go from flying to grounded. Lego Marvel Super Heroes is overall an easy game to play, but that doesnt make it boring by any account. With the long list of characters you can play and the miniature missions included in the game, there is an endless list of possibilities that can keep you playing for weeks. Even as someone who normally enjoys high-en- d graphics and complicated storylines, I had a blast with this game and all of its nuances and its fun atmosphere. Is there a game you want me to review?
