The Cougars of NCAA Division I hosted the exhibition game against Dixie State College of NCAA Division II, and the Storm gave the Cougars all they could handle. It was fun coaching it (and) fun watching it, head coach Jon Judkins said. They wanted it. They played hard. It was just a fun game. Starting the first half off with a 13-- 3 lead, and keeping the game close all the way to the end, Dixie put the pressure on BYU, until the Cougars slipped in a few fatal shots to keep the win at home in Provo with BYU 96 and Dixie studies from Spokane, Wash., played an outstanding game, leading the game in points scored with 26, beating BYU forward Brock Zylstra, BYUs who had The 23 points. Women's soccer season Utes, Cougs beat Storm ends with loss to Lancers BY KATELYN LANCASTER Staff Writer pie Dixie State College womens soccer season ended with a home game Thursday and an away game Saturday. The Red Storm of Dixie State College played the Antelopes of Grand Canyon University Thursday. After a double overtime the game ended with a tie. Senior defender Whitley Davis, a psychology major from Sandy, said die game was a little slow in the first half, but the Red Storm dominated in the second 1- -1 half. With 25 minutes left m the major from Las Vegas, called the game unlucky. She said although die team tied, it was a great home game to end the season. Head coach Linda Huddleston said her players put a lot of heart, skill and fight into die game. She also said its frustrating to have the game end in a tie when the Red Storm are every bit as good as the Antelopes. Saturdays game had a different outcome. Dixie State came home with two losses in its hands. The game on Friday, Nov. 4, was against Brigham Young University, which resulted in a 1 loss for DSC. "BYU is a completely different level," head coach Angela Kristensen said. "Before going into the season I wanted to test them and that's what it did." The BYU women's basketball team had a starting lineup of women more than 5 feet and 0 inches tall. This made it tough for Dixie State to get in a momentum in the U- - ,N 7' i - game. The Cougars started the game with a 16-- 4 run, but with 6:47 left of the first half, senior forward Shanae Vaifanua hit a that cut the lead to 15 points.
