Show PBL wins honors 4t St. George - The Dixie College Phi ol Beta Lambda Club (PBL) recently competed at a state tourney with other business clubs from Utah's universities and colleges. Shilo Case Eight Dixie College students competed in the Vocational in Graphic Art, third place, Robyn Industrial Clubs of America State Skill Hipwell in Job Skill Demonstration Olympics in Salt Lake City on April Class A, taking second, and Wade '8 Making an impressive showing, Russell in Job Skill Demonstration the competitors brought home four Class B, taking home a gold. tiedals in various areas of Russell will go on to compete in the National competition in Louis ville, Ken. on June 22-2Other people who competed but did not place include Kevin Oyler and Kelly New in the category of Aero Technology, Don Smith a five-ye- Service Recognition Award. Hunt has helped the student business club achieve state and national recognition. In overall Chapter Events, Dixie team members came away with two first place honors in the State Project, Community Service and also the local Community Service Project. The Dixie Chapter also took fourth in the Annual Report category. Lynn Works, president of Dixie's PBL Club, earned first place in Parliamentary Procedures and fifth place in Machine Transcription. She also won an Outstanding Rating in Who's Who in PBL. in Culinary, and Robert Anderson in Ad Design. Jay Slade, VICA adviser, describes MCA by saying, "VICA is a service club oriented towards developing Vocational skills". Jennifer Hudson won first place in Business Principles, second place in Marketing, fourth place m Information Management and won an Honorable Mention for Management as well. Lonny Heaton took first place in the Mr. Future Business Executive category, second place in Impromptu Speaking, fifth place in Business Principles and an Honorable Mention in the Job Interview area. Becky Newman earned two first place awards in Business Grapliics and Parliamentary Procedures. Kay Kirby also took first place in Parliamentary Procedures and won an Honorable Mention for Macliine Transcription. Cole Mackelprange was also a member of the team winning first place in Parliamentary Procedures. Sherri Lyn Condie received an Honorable Mention in Business Communication . Chantel Baker received an Honorable Mention in the Job Interview category. Club Vice President Kevin Condie earned third place in the Mr. Future Business Executive category, and Brenda Schwitzer, publicity director, received a first place in Parliamentary Procedures. The Dixie PBL Team has now qualified to go on to the national competition, where they will compete against colleges and universities across the country. trluv begr.
