U.S. Army Major Robert Lauritzen emphasized that the program is presently only in the talking stage, but said that it would probably include an agreement to offer Rebel freshmen and sophomore students a Basic Leadership classes one morning a week with transfer credit applied towards ROTC programs at other Utah schools. Major Lauritzen noted that students are traditionally under no obligation to the military for taking ROTC classes during the first two years of an Associates program. students, Sophomore said ROTC recruiter R. Graduates of the initial program could go on to earn their commission as officers in the Reserves, National Guard, or the U.S. Army. This could be the perfect answer, said Captain Miller, for many qualified Dixie students worried about paying for their last two years of college.
