The Homecoming Committee, guided by Chairperson Russell Feller and perennial student Rudy Iverson, has released the weeks schedule and is promoting with bubbly week the enthusiasm. The ten activities, built around such standard homecoming fixtures as a queen contest, parade and, natch, home football game, will kick off Sunday night at the . Institute LDS J and finish Saturday night at the LDS Institute. The first event, a fireside featuring University of Utah R.J. Snow, is set for 8:00 on Sunday. Snow, a former Rebel, is a frequent guest at Dixie. The Homecoming Queen 8:15 p.m. in the Dixie Fine Arts Auditorium. Tuesdays contest will feature the ten finalists chosen earlier from a list of 37 applicants. The new queen will reign over the weeks activities. Homecoming returns to the LDS Institute Wednesday with a 7:00 a.m. showing of Walking Tall, Part II. After the movie, a Night on the Town is planned, with a stop at the Big Arch Roller Rink. Thursday night, budding John Travoltas can strut their stuff at the 9:00 p.m. disco. A dance contest and door prizes are planned. The week hits a big peak Friday night, when Michael Murphy, a phenomenal pop success in the mid-70performs at 8:00 in the gym. Though a Southwest Series event, there will be a nominal 3.00 charge. Bob and Bob have one main goal for the year: to strive for involvement and activities for the freshmen class. Shelle Terry was chosen from the other six candidates to be Freshman Class Secretary. Shelle is a native of St. George and attended Dixie High School. She has been in student government all through Jr. High and High School. During her senior year, Shelle was the Fiscal Officer in the Executive Council. She was on the high school drill team and in many other clubs. She was Harvest Ball Princess and Dixie Day Queen. Shelle is very enthusiastic and looking forward to a great year. class. Steve Everett and Galen Webb were the vote getters in the sophomore race. Sophomore class secretary is Laura Graf. According to ASDC President Metcalf, the campaign and election went well. There was a lot of competition and as a result, I feel that we have a group of class officers that are willing to work. The actual percentage of votes received by each candidate was not disclosed. The voter turnout varied highly between the two clasof the sophoses. A number of activities are on the planning board. According to the class officials a Homecoming committee is presently being organized. We want to involve as many as possible, commented President Steve Everett. We are planning to have a number Vice-preside- of committees. Some will be and standing committees others we will have on a temporary basis. Among the other activities planned is a class assembly, competitions with the freshmen and a class project to donate to the college.
