You'll find in your new mansion on the bottom floor, soon, you'll be able to dine in leisure every Rebel Rousers held their first meeting of this quarter Tuesday, Jan. II, and will be meeting each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Union Conference room. Such business as the election of new officers was covered. Activities and functions of this building are regulated by a student union committee which is headed by Tom Hover. This committee is open for suggestion and idea for the type of activities you the student would like held in your building. Please turn your suggestions in at the j . Rocking horses, the big explosive kind, steer wrestling, calf roping, and barrel racing are becoming very popul.-iUtah, according to Rudy Iverson, advisor to Dixie College: Rodeo Club. Mr. Iverson says over 300 high school seniors throughout 'Ji: state have requested information about Dixie's Rodeo program He added that other schools throughout the state sponsorir: such a program are having a similar response. Dixie's bucking horse program has grown by leaps and bound, these last few years, according to Mr. Iverson. "Although wear-a small school," he said, "we have been able to compete an: stay in the top rankings with such schools as Utah State, Brighar Young, Ricks and Weber. We have been able to do this err though we have limited financial support from the college Most of the other schools are alloted a Rodeo budget. We rai most of our own money, built our own correls and practice aren: and furnish the major portion of our travel expenses. Dixie's success can be measured to a great extent by the fact Iverson says, "We have to compete constantly against oat Mr. as own former students. We have them at Dixie for two years, mi ing an outstanding record while here, and then they transfer to of the four year institutions where they compete against us." Dixie's success can also be measured by the fact that Bren: Atkin, a former strong contender on Dixie's team, is Presiderr of the National Intercollegiate Roaeo Association. The Association represents 125 colleges and 1500 contestants. Brent iso: the BYU team. Fred Hunter, also a former student is Director of the Rod; Mountain Region, representing 15 institutions and their cor women are becoming part of this vital organizational area. Heres a simple little guide to this fascinating career. BEGINNING POSITIONS: Office assistants; secretaries; personnel trainees; typists. TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS: College degree in social sciences; business ex- perience; good memory; knowledge of people. PREPARING NOW: Social science and business practices courses; any job working with people. ADVANCEMENT OP- PORTUNITIES: Interviewers; personnel directors.
