Show The Dixie Owl, St. Ceorge, Utah 26 which comprises the different stages through which music has passed from its crude beginning down to its present day perfection. With the various types of music, we study the great composers, having examples of their works played in our club meetings. Why is our name? Because to Be Sharp is our motive. Watch out for the results of our Club, for, true to our name, we aim to be sharp. It is our desire to Always Be Natural Never Be Flat Sometimes Be Sharp. Helen Miles. ATHLETICS On the afternoon of Nov. 11, Armistice Day, an athletic contest was held on our Dixie Campus. The opening event was a relay race, four men from each class entering. The Third Years were the winners. Following this was a girls relay, with the same number of participants. The second year girls, spurred on by the frenzied yells of their class, exerted themselves and won the race. Following these events was a between the school boys and the boys of the American Legion. The soldier boys somewhat outclassed their opponents in size, but our Dixie because of in dragsucceeded their boys, line. huskies over the Other competitive games, ging the such as rooster fighting, furnished lots of merriment for the tug-of-w- ar never-the-le- ss stick-to-it-ivene- rs. Immediately after the track meet, a basket ball game was played between the Legion boys and the D. N. C. team. The game was fast and active as well as amusing. At the end, the score favored the College team. On the night of Nov. 21, following Founders Day activities, one of the most exciting games of the season was played between the Hurricane High School team and Dixies Freshies.
