Show The Dixie Owl, St. George, Utah 20 A WORD FROM THE STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT I wish to express my appreciation to each and every individual who is contributing to make our student body government the success that it is. The success is due to the cooperation of all who are connected with our government. It is due to the wise suggestions, support and assurances received from President Romney and his associate members of the faculty ; to the untiring efforts and enthusiasm of the student body officers ; to the persistent and loyal work of the police force, but most of all to the loyal support, lively interest and wholesome attitude of the student body as a whole. I have learned that all that students need to govern themselves, and unitedly do wondrous things, is simply the opportunity, presented to them in the right way. They are really anxious to serve their fellows in what ever way they can. They are willing to sacrifice selfish individual desires to create a condition that will be for the best good of all. The recent excellent condition of our study room is a demonstration of what can be done. I would request, fellow students, that you cooperate with, and help as much as possible, the members of the police force. They do their unpleasant work absolutely without remuneration or honor, simply because you have requested them to do so and because they wish to see the noble standards of our institution upheld. I also urge you to assist as much as possible the student body officers in their various duties. Although not as unpleasant as the policemens duties, they are vital to the success of our school. As a last word fellow students I say. Let us continue Let us forget what past years have been or whaj; future years may be and make every effort to make this year, the school year of 1919 and 20, one big success. on in our work. No matter how high we rise we discover infinite above. |
