Show DIXIE OWL Third Years Those 18s Ever. body busy hence everybody happy in the bird year class. We aim to make each day the best in our school life. So far success, gained by true labor, has greeted us on every hand and we n re going to keep on working. No one can say that we lag in the race. I Have you noticed how those Junior Athletes have carried off With Wes. McArthur for manager, of course, they could never be far behind. so many honors? I' Did you see how lively and white appeared on the red Found- ers Day? Every member was proud of his colors. The success of our third year dance can be imagined only by considering the enthusiasm that was manifested. Everybody took At advantage of every dance. 12:00 oclock, in accordance with the best rules of health and decorum, the orchestra played and everyone departed hoping the third years would entertain again soon. Everybody who was down to Bessies Saturday night will agree with us that the party was a We made it. howling success. one of those real rousing affairs that drives away stiffness and formality and makes one feel that it is good to be alive and that it. is good to be a Junior. What some of the other classes think of our entertaining. went to a Junior spree, Met a Jane at the northwest I tree, From there we went to lunch And met the jolly Junior bunch. They patched us and they matched us. And they turned us all around, Until we reallv wondered If we were still on the ground. Our thanks we give to the Juniors, For t he time we had that night. And this is my conclusion, The Juniors are all right. Second Years Realizing the influence of our social activities in affecting our attitude toward school we felt that it would be good to effect a All Second class organization. Years wishing to join may beWe propose to come members. hold short, spicy meetings biweekly, arranging programs that are appropriate and beneficial. We hope to get. bet ter acquainted with each other and gain useful information not obtainable in the regular daily routine of class work. We believe we can do this without infringing on our study time. There is something common for us all which makes us feel a little nearer each other than to other students of the school, as we are doing the same work, will graduate together, and are on common groundsill all we This will not detract from our loyalty to the student, body nor to the school. That we might be a real live, active class we decided first, to choose a suitable class name. It was decided to give the student suggesting the best name a Year Book of the school as prize. Of course our best talent went to work and a number of very good names were forthcoming. In all twelve names were suggested. Athletic Be Manager, Fern Whit ehead, Chairman of Amusement Committee, Melvin Cox, yell master, and Edna Snow, Reporter. We are expecting a very successful winter with these officers. We have already shown what we can do at entertaining. We held our first party in the Auditorium, Oct. 21st. The evening was spent in playing games and dancing during which lunch was served. The hall was tastefully decorated in our class colors, The party purple and white. was made a success by the help of our class guardians, Mr. and Mrs. Romney and Miss Snow. A number of the faculty and students from different classes were there. Everybody had a rousing good time and will tell you that the first years sure know how to entertain.
