September 13th signaled the start of the school year as far as the Institute was concerned. All the leaders of the LDS met in Pine Valley for a spiritual boost before the actual beginning of school. Rodney the Rebel. was totally shocked when he turned to me and said that he was the possessor of the Dixie Spirit. Rodney helped the cheerleaders during the game and really brought out the spirit. The team had the desire and the school was behind them as you can see by the resuits of the game. Dixie Won! Be sure to come out and meet Rodney. He will be to as many games as possible as well as the Pep rallys. Try to figure out who Rodney really is. Lets keep the spirit that Rebel Rod has given us and follow our team to a first place title. 197! The team had the Spirit but the school didnt. There was a definite need for Dixie Spirit so that the team could do its best. We thought about School Spirit all week long. As the time for the Palo Verde game we were driving past the LDS Institute and saw this strange looking fellow trying to thumb a ride. In trying to show a little of the spirit that I have been talking about I stopped and gave him a ride. The stranger was dressed in red and had a very Jug head on which perched a Confederate fighting cap. I asked him his name and he said : NORGETOWN LAUNDRY AND DRYCLEANING Kemp Korners 67 North 700 East X S Block North of The College V |
