You shall hear how all collegians Of the D. N. C. in Dixie, Came to school one morning early While the sun sent beams so brightly, And the breezes blew so gently. In the Valley by the Virgin, In the bosom of red sandstone, There among the ferns and mosses, In the land of greatest wonder, Forth into the mighty building, Came the college to the Dixie. Came the (lass of great renown, Class of history and of fame, Class of talent, these Collegian. Bread and butter, corn and chickens. With the Red Rocks for a cushion And our lunch sacks for a table. Oh that good and tasty chicken Gooked by all he male Col legians. Thus it was the kettles emptied Emptied with degrees of measures Measures for to which continue, Eating that delicious supper. Thus it was the party ended, As the morning star came forth.
