I ..A J mto j HER MAJESTY DHS 1984 Homecoming Queen Julie Bar-her- o and attendants Bonnie Johnson and Cheryl Peterson take a tour of the kingdom aboard the royal Plymouth change in the atmosphere as Homecoming at Dugway . good reason celebrate as the football team pulled off a convincing victory by beating the South Rich Trojans 16-ter There were many activities throughout the week including dress-u- p - decided to add something new by electing a Homecoming King as well as Queen. Reigning this year are Julie Barbaro and Troy Prather. Nominated, as first attendants are Bonnie Johnson and Rob Solomon with Cheryl Petersen and Darrin Buys as the second attendants. Although only a few can be the actual winners all those who were nominated to run should be proud. Spirit was running pant throughout the high school, there was a definate ram- far the biggest and best in Dugways history.' This was another class competition, as the juniors and freshman tried to gather more wood than the seniors and sopho- For the first time the teachers and staff were really in style. Tuesday was the day for athletes to strut their stuff. Most of the students came dressed in . sweatsuits and tennis shoes. There were a few original people around the school wearing wrestling outfits, football attire and one even wore her rollerskates. Maroon and white were the colors of Wednesday as the students showed true Mustang loyalty in the school colors. Many hours after school were spent working on the spirit of homecoming. Each of the classes was assigned a ' .X ELLIE WILSON of the Dugway Boosters Club corated hall award. This years bonfire was by part of the nerd. days at school, a bonfire and snake drive, and the election of Homecoming Queen. This year the high school &. in-betwe- ens ing late 'and coming to school earlier than any of the other classes, the seniors were' awarded the best de- polyester outfits were the fad of the day. Their effort was well rewarded as the piles of wood burst into flame, lighting and warming everyone. The fire was so hot that much of the crowd was at-- . tracted to another scene of excitement. A few of the students put on a little break dancing show. After the fire had cooled a bit the crowd was lead back to cheer and get thteam psyched up. After the bonfire the MPs escorted the students for a snake drive. This turned out to be one of the longest and most organized presented Mustang of the month awards to two of Dugway Highs best. . . Rob Solomon and Fiona McHardy at the pep rally preceding the homecoming game. .1 . snakes. There was a lot of noise and fun, but no accidents occurred. Instead of decorating the teams lockers as has V- r ib-- r C 'fi been the tradition in past years, the girls stayed out all night decorating each players door. They did a super job and the guys really appreciate their giving up a nights sleep for their benefit. It showed how much the cheerleaders and student bodycare for their team. Overall it was a fun and y:V;sy t v.. r exciting week for everyone. The dance was also a suc- cess. Many alumni came ii home to support their alma mater. It was good to get a break WHERES THE BOOTH? The sophomores played cram the telephone booth. . without the convenience of a booth at the Pep Rally. from the normal schedqle and revive the school spirit. Tt ' - !- n' THEY FLEW THROUGH THE AIR, great cheerleaders these. . . but isnt the hardwood a little rough on the knees? This type of energetic display was AFTER they stayed up most of the nigh at bonfire and decorating the doors of the team players. . . these gals were truly . the superwomen of homecoming week. . - v. THE THREE MUSKETEERS of Dugway High, Mike Wilson, Buddy Smith and Scott Gro-hariw- g indicate their enthusiastic approval for the Mustang Cheerleaders routine before shellacing the South Rich Trojans in the homecoming game.
