Show t m throw merrily into , Apparently our tree cutting program has been a success. I have talked to a number of folks who went down to the cutting area, and a . brought out their tree. As matter of fact we went down there last Saturday and took out four. While we were there we ran into several other families. This is the third time that we have received permission . ' from the Bureau of Land Management to cut in the same area. Good trees are getting a little scarce down there. Maybe next year we can set up a different area. I know it is Christmas time, and not the time to bring up unhappy things. . but since the Post is closing for almost two weeks, and a lot of you are planning to leave during that, time, I would strongly suggest that you lock up your quarters,' and notify the MPs that you won't be there. They have a system where they check your quarters periodically while you are away. It would be a shame for some thug to ruin your holidays, simply because you did not lock up. Another unhappy note. The MFs made two Driving Under the Influence arrests last weekend. One of them was a teenager. If you want to drink and drive, I would have no argument, except that you will leave behind a terribly hurt family, or even worse you will destroy some other family who did nothing wrong other than happen along the road at the same time you did. If you don't think much of yourself, for heaven's sake think of others. I know that you have heard so it many times before, but here it is again, with the hope that it will have some effect. If you are headed for a party, and you know there will be drinking, then make some kind of arrangements for transportation home, other . than driving yourself. Or make arrangements with your host to stay there for the know if night You will never or own life, you saved your Tf of others. the lives you do drink and drive, you may live you life behind. We are in the process of recording a number of Christmas programs that we will play back the week between Christmas and New Year's. They are the LDS Primary Children's Christmas program, the Protestant Children's services, the Catholic Midnight Mass, the Elemen- tary School Christmas Program, and the High School Band and Chorus Concert. . We will announce on Channel 13 the schedule of when the programs will be broadcast. Gauge your guests' sobriety more by how theyve consumed than by how they act. Don't ask a drink driver if hes sober enough to drive. The question gets the same answer, just like asking, "Are you sleeping? Make alternative arrangements for him to get home. Call a taxi, send him with a sober guest, or drive him yourself. Then take him aside, so he won't be defensive in front of the others, and firmly tell him the arrangements youve made. Don't let him talk his way out of a ride home. Your responsibility to your guests doesnt end at the front door. The party isn't over until all the guests are safely home. In car one were the Wilsons, I heard someone say.
