Yes, indeed, it takes a big man, or a really dedicated professional to take the time and make the effort to visit the kids, and e tell them all about the horrors of poor dental hygiene. A presentation was highlighted by questions from the children (and we all know all the hundreds of questions that they can come up with!). The occasion that prompted this appearance was a unit study of dental health in the childrens healthscience unit at school. ACS is also in need of more volunters. We offer free babysitting for those volunteers. with young children. We have areas in which some . ' Community Service is dedicated to helping to better the lives of civilian and military families. One of the programs they sponsor is the American Red. Cross, which is tasked with assisting in blood drives and disaster relief. Most times, we don't hear too much about the Red Cross, but during blood drives and in a crisis situa-- . tion, their work is needed and appreciated. There are Red Cross volunteers at our Health Clinic and in the records room at the clinic. Many of these volunteers help provide services that would go unassisted if riot for these volunteers. Another area in which the ACS is active is the Welcome Packets supplied to new residents of Dugway and to those ; families receiving orders for Dugway. ACS also has budget counselors to assist those with budget problems and , ' work can be done in the home, and others in the Health Clinic, Dental Cline and at the Child Care Center. Volunteer workers can contribute as little or as much time as they feel comfortable to give. Being a volunteer worker doesn't require perfection, or lots of spare time; it just asks for a little help. ACS plans their next board meeting on March 3rd at 10 a.in: We will meet in the clinic conference room. All are welcome. If you are interested in doing a little volun-- . teer work, or would just like to see what areas we need help with, please feel free to drop in. You are invited to attend the newcomers orientation on March 9. We also plan another of our famous "Build Your Own Salad luncheon on March 14 at 11:30 a.m. We are always happy, to. meet new additions to our area.
