AER allows us to maintain this tradition and to show our concern and commitment to the well-bein- g of our soldiers and their families through the AER funds made available to local commanders to help their soldiers in time of emergency financial need. The need for AER assistance by Army people, active and retired, and their famiies has increased markedly in recent years. Over $15,700,000 was provided in 1982. This was the highest amount ever in one year and was niore than three times the amount provided in 1976. The Veterans Administration has an inventory of some 160 homes for sale throughout the State of Utah. Most of these properties are located in the Wasatch Front Communities and most have been completely refurbished, according to Douglas Wadsworth, VA Regional Office Director. The terms' available for these home are among the most attractive in the industry. The homes are sold on contract, pereliminating the need to obtain financing. The pay-oiod of up to 30 years is the best available on the market. Current interest rates of 12 percent are also among the lowest to be found, notes Wadsworth. Perhaps most appealing is that the Veterans Administration places no restrictions of eligibility or occupancy on prospective buyers. One need not be a veteran to buy, nor must he necessarily plan to occupy the home himself. Inquiries relative to available properties should be directed to local real estate brokers or to the Veterans Administration at ut 524-598- 6.
