Losasso, (left), administers the postmasters oath to Dugway Postmaster Coy K. Jensen at the DPG Post Office July .18. Dugway Postmaster sworn in receives about 15,000 pieces of mail Coy K. Jensen was sworn in last Friday as Dugway s very own Postmaster. Though Dugway has had a Post Office and zip code of its own for quite some time, the exact status has been shifted around from time to time. SOME studies explored the feasibility of this being a branch of the Tooele Post Office. That study determined it would be better if Dugway remained as a 2nd Clas Postal Operations facility. Jensen worked his way up through the ranks to the postmastership. He started on Oct. 2, 1967 as a carrier here at Dugway, then as fulltime window clerk, and since October 1978 he has been the officer in charge. FOR A small operation,, some of the statistics of the Dugway operation are quite impressive. On a weekly basis, the Post Office while they dispatch about 20,000 pieces. They also generate stamp and money order sales of about $1,500 per week. On a more personal note, Dugway residents receive about 2.6 pieces of mail per day. AND TALK about efficiency, the letter carriers here average 93.86 pieces of mail delivered each hour as measured by the Post Office. How many other jobs can we say are as fast and accurate? Jensen was sworn into his new office on July 18 by Charles R. Losasso, Manager Postmaster of the Management Sectional Center in Salt Lake City. The Dugway Post Office also services the Fish Springs National Wildlife Refuge and provides Star Route service to Terra. offers 'Hotline j , . ;;V the Rainbow Terrace, Saturday, August 9, for your annual good time from the local that cares.
