They were among 1200 girls from seven states who attended. THE CHEERLEADERS won a total of 16 ribbons and, in final competition, won an "Excellent Performance" trophy. This is the first trophy ever won by Dugway High School cheerleaders. Instruction for the cheerleaders included: new yells, formations, technique, chants, sportsmanship, tumbling, double stunts, novelty cheers, crowd psychology and boosting school spirit. The won a total of 75 ribbons, 19 Superior ribbons, 40 Excellent, and 16 Outstanding. They also took second place in over-a- ll workshop activities. THIS SECOND place trophy was earned for superior performance in: school spirit, drill comdowns, uniform fashion, and performmarching, petition ance of newly learned marches.
