Orr Philosophizing is a wonderful thing. One can philoon any subject sophize without being-- required to either agree with or believe that which is being considered. For example, the optimist would state "Life is just a bowl of cherries." The pessimist would state, "Yep,- and with a pit in every one." Or take the old cliche, "You have my moral support." This statement suggests or implies that the individual spoken to lacks certain moral capabilities. What is really meant is that the individual doing the speaking is attempting to elevate the morale of the other. ALONG the highways one often sees the warning sign "ROAD CONSTRUCTION AHEAD". I maintain that the sign is misleading and misspelled and should read "ROAD CONSTRICTION AHEAD". Punning is, of course, a play on words, but it is just as much fun playing with them. There are many who state that the art of punning is dead. The art may have passed on, but punning is still available. IRS Warns Against Scare Advertising Utah taxpayers were warned today against misleading newspaper, radio, and TV ads conveying the impression that the tax law greatly complicates their 1970 returns. Roland V. Wise, District Director of Internal Revenue for Utah, said the ads placed by some commercial preparers of tax returns also picture the Form 1040 as extremely complex so as to discourage taxpayers from attempting to fill out their own returns. MR. WISE said the IRS has tried to make improvements in the form and in filing procedures . . . WANT TO GET AWAY? ? WE'VE GOT THE MACHINE! ! YAMAHA A sharpshooter is a gal who the lip.
