Another surprise was the success of the CBS show The Waltons" which was given a slight chance of making it by many critics. The wrong shows were given the axe. Instead of getting rid of Bonanza, The Bold Ones, Night Gallery, and Hie Sixth Sense, the shows that should have gone are: Bridget Loves Benue", Maude, Heres Lucy, Search, and Cannon to name a few. n New shows that made their premiers are: Here We Co Again" and A Touch of Grace Saturday on ABC. Kung Fu" is now a w eekly series appearing Thursday nights on ABC. NBC premiered The Bobby Darin Show" on Fridays. Bamaliv Jones" (formerly titled Bamaby Cobb) with Buddy Elisen premiered on CBS last week. A syndicated Bobby Goldslioro show is now on Monday evenings. mid-seaso- KUNG FU (ABC) Who said there aren't any westerns left other than Cunsmokeil If this and Uec Ramsey aren't westerns, 111 turn in my David Carradine plays a Sliaolin priest who is a master of kung fu. Originally scheduled as a once a month offering, it ran into some luck when Alias Smith and Jones dropped in the ratings and fell from the graces of the ABC executives. Now it is a series every week. After his disaster of a few seasons ago, Shane", Carradine has embarked upon a new scries that is much more entertaining. While in China he killed a murderer who happened to lie the Royal Nephew. Now lie has a price on his head and must dodge lmiinty hunters and killers alike. Hie shows center around iinjustices to the Chinese in the United States in the 1870's. One show dealt with a fellow priest that Caine (Carradine) was trying to locate. The townspeople treated the Chinese as inferior people and paid no attention when one of the Chinese was murdered. With the arrival of Caine, all that changed, and the murderers were brought to justice with the help of Caine and the sheriff. All in all, a good program with good scripts; this show should last on past the end of the season. The cost for the meal is $1.25. The main dishes for the week are: Monday, pepper steak; Tuesday, chicken post-wid- n, e. cac-ciato- Wednesday, Salisbury Thursday, spaghetti; steak; and Friday, halibut. All meals are served with potatoes, vegetables, soup or salad, and bread and butter Whatever William Castles idea was at the beginning of i the season with this show, it didnt work. Castle, ' the ' executive producer, has scared people with movies so he thought hed give television a try. Whereas Rod Serling added to Night Gallery by being host and writing some of the episodes, Sebastian Calxit was totally out of place as Wiston Essex. C allot introduced each show as a fictional character and came back at the end of the episode to try to bring things together; he didn't. It just plain didn't make any sense. Serling has been in the scaring business for a long time and has a reputation for his fine scripts. They unfortunately cut his show hour and ultimately to nothing. f to Originally named Ghost Story this show has undergone some facelifting. The name was changed to Circle of Fear and Calxit was dropped as the host. The Ilitchcock-lik- e episodes are entertaining to a not but are enthralling. Horror shows are wholly point, not on the wav out, but this show should be and rigjitly so. one-hal- CANDIES oironypsft begum... the rest of your life. matter where the rest of your life leads, First Security Bank can make the road easier.
