DUGWAY got off to a good start in the first round 8 win over rival with an Tooele Army Depot at the tournament being held at Ft. Ord, Calif. They ran into trouble in the second round as the team from the Oakland Army Base pinned loss on the Dugway a 78-6- 1 team. Being a double elimination tournament, Dugway wasn't out of the running despite their loss. FITZSIMMONS General Hospital, Denver, took care of that as they handed Dugway its second loss Tuesday by a score of 93-7eliminating Dugway from the tourney. Ft. They defeated Albertsons of in the title tilt Tooele 87-7- 8 after eliminating defending champion Busicos of Tooele 68-6- 4 and Utah Tech 8660. Chatman, the tournaments leading scorer with 71 points in three games, saved his best effort for the championship contest. He poured in 33 points with 20 of diem coming in the second half when Clearfield pulled away for the win. THE FIRST half was nip and tuck all the way as Gary matched Chatman's Alverson 13 points and Clearfield led by at intermission. only one, In the second half Chatman increased his pace and got help from Tillman while Jim Bowers took up the burden for the losers with 15 points. Following Chatmans 33 in the scoring totals for the champions were Tillman (20), John Topps (16) and Roy Lee York (10). Alverson led Albertsons with 21 points, Bowers totaled 20 and Alan Lewis scored 14. The tournaments opening game was the closest and perhaps the best as Busicos the defending champ and winner of the Tooele County Recreation League pennant, was knocked off by Clearfield. CHATMAN led the Clearfield scorers with 18 points as 5 the winners rolled up a big halftime margin only to see Busicos storm back to cut the deficit to a single point in file final minutes. AT STATIONS 3, 4, 5 and 8 no targets are thrown at the same time, thus only two shots are fired at each of these stations. A participant has an extra round which he can fire after his first miss.
