Mike Masoian, Youth Acti- vity director, always on the prowl to expose the youngsters to different types of sports, decided to pick up a couple of soccer tails. Saturday morning rolled around and then it happen! The Dugway youngsters at first were a little hesitant to lie classified as Ixxiters (the word had a different meaning to them as compared to soccer enthusiasts). That all change though as they became familiar with the most popular team sport on earth today. Even the very first Saturday morning, which consisted of a lot funainentals under the direction of SP5 Vance Codrington, Mr. Masoian, Maj. Franklin Haskins ans Sp 5 Tony Vieira, it became evident to the sideline spectators that soccer fever had caught fire at Dugway Proving Ground. As the weeks progressed competition and participation skyrocketed. Corner kicks, off sides and trapping are all part youngsters' lingo here now. The soccer !all will le getting a rest the next few weeks as the snows hit the Utah desert. About the time of the World Cup soccer matches in Mexico late next spring though, don't lie surprize if see a bunch of Dugway Ixxiters doing their thing. 1 "But am I big enough for soccer?" wonders little Tim Byrd. ms Mi.
