Cliildrcns Parly Held Today al Dugway As the song says, 'Tis the Season to lie Jolly" and jolly it was at the Dugway Youth Activities Club sponsored nala Christ-ma- s party for all the youngsters of the community. THE PARTY was complete with refreshments, candy, entertainment and most of all, a visit by Santa Clans himself. The party was attended ly hundreds of children who left with candy sticky fingers, hot chocolate stains on their clothes and a look (if strange wonderment in their eyes. The parents eyes had a slightly different look of wonderment that could le called glazed. The Diiuwav High School Band, under the baton of Bob ed through an arrangement with Mrs. Clans and eighty million Dohson furnished Christmas music. Ushers and assistants to Santa other Ixiys and girls in the country were furnished by the High who willingly rearranged their School Honor Society under the parties to enable him to appear direction of Debbie Duncan. The at Dugway. popular Karen Phillips provided a storytell with music and words which received the rapt attention of the sinall-fr- y audience as well as some of the adults. Jerry Rogers of Headquarters Company presented a clever puppet silhouette show that was acclaimed by the audience, and Ned Stanfield once more proved that the hand is faster than the eye although all hats don't contain rabbits and things don't appear out of thin air, it may have appeared so when Ned presented his magician's act. THE ABLE coordinator for the affair was Major James C. Faison, assisted by many organisations and individuals who through their generous help and donations made the event possible. As driver for the installation commander, his initiative, military discipline and exemplary dedication to duty contributed significantly to the timely accomplishment of many military I tasks. His ability to meet scheduled commitments and his attitude toward his assigned responsibilities, which on many occasions involved meeting and providing transpor tation support for visitors to this installation, frequently were significantly important to the effective accomplishment of important projects. THE MANNER in which he performed his duties created a favorable impression not only at the installation level but with many visiting dignitaries. PFC Travis presented a neat, polite, dignified, military taring at all times and wn always considered a distinct credit to the installation. His competence, cooperative attitude, good judgment and punctuality have lxn extremely valuable contributions to the successful accomplishment of many tasks in the Office of the Commanding Officer. Thomas, US 565 901 23, Headquarters and Headquarters Company received the Dugway Proving Ground certificate of achievement from Colonel Charles M. Shadle, Post Commander. Specialist Thomas received his award for outstanding service in the Comptroller Office, Fi- - nance and Accounting Division during the period March 1968 to Decemlier 1968. As Military Pav Clerk, Spe- cialist Thomas, without lienefit of service schooling, rapidly inas- tered the intracacies of Military Pay and Allowances. Specialist Thomas readily assumed and successfully completed duties which provided the necessary continuity and continued high performance of the Military Pay Section, which would have been disrupted bv the transfer of senior enlisted personnel. Travis, RA 189 239 35, Headquarters and Headquarters Company received the Dugway Proving Ground certificate of achievement from Colonel Charles M. Commander of Post Shadle, DPG. Santa's time was furnish- - Thomas Receives DPG Certificate SFC Sheldon New Records Supervisor A native from Eureka, Utah, has replaced Specialist Five Boyle as Officer's Records Supervisor at Military Operations Office, Dugway. SERGEANT First Class Margaret C. Sheldon (WAC) arrived from Fort Ord, California in the month of Decemlwr. While at Fort Ord she was assigned as an Instructor at BAAC, 4th Brigade, Ft. Ord. Calif. SFC Sheldon attended San Diego State College, San Diego. California where she majored in Business for 2 years. From 1950 to 1968 she saw duty at Camp Lee, Va, San Francisco, Japan. Korea, Oakland. Calif.. Omaha, Nebraska, Ft. Riley, Kansas. Ft. Benning, Georgia, and Fort Ord, Ro-lie- rt California. She has attended CBR School. Recruiting School, Leadership School, and the NCO Academy at Ft. Rilev, Kansas. SFC' SHELDON has been active in the Ladies of the Moose, The Altar Society, and the Ameriawardcan Legion. She has ed the Army Commendation Medal, Korean Service Medal, National Defense Medal, 2nd awarded, Gxxl Conduct Medal, and a .meritorious Unit Citation. 2nd awarded.
