Show Friday, June 14, 1974 awards Ground Proving DPG support cited Kingdom receives award Colonel Eric IL Vierler, commander of the 115th Military Intelligence Group headquartered at the Presidio of San Francisco, presents a Certificate of Achievement June 3 to Colonel Robert A. Shade, U.S. Army Dugway Proving Ground commander. The award cited the assistance provided by the local commander during the establishment of a Dugway resk. dent office of the 115th. The resident office was established in Dec. 1973. Lieutenant Colonel Henry ( Kale, Jr, chief o the Security Office, in similar ceremonies received a Certificate of Achievement from Colonel Vierler for support given the 115th by the Security Office. Also present for die ceremonies were Mr. J. Horton, senior agent in charge of the Ft. Douglas resident office, and Mr. Pete Gonzales, special agent at Dugway. Knox retires Colonel Robert A. Shade (r), DPG commander, joins retiring Lieutenant Colonel Robert R. Knox, Jr., and his family during retirement ceremonies in DPG Past Headquarters. The family members include LLCol. Knoxs wife Betty, sons Robert (far right) and John, and daughter Juliana. In addition to his Certificates of Retirement and Appreciation, Lt.Col. Knox also received the Meritorious Service Medal and a Dugway Proving Ground Plaque in appreciation of his many contributions to the installations mission success. Lt.Col. Knox was previously DPC executive officer and more recently a member of the Program Control Office. Mrs. Knox received a. Certificate of Achievement for her outstanding, generous, and voluntary contributions to the Dugway community. Colonel Arthur J. Madsen, chief of Personnel, Training and Force Tate retires Sergeant First Class Cleo C. Tate, formerly of the Munitions Branch at Dugway, receives Certificates of Retirement and Appreciation May 31 from Colonel Robert A. Shade, post commander. Tates wife, Dorothy, was also awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Department of the , Army for her contributions to the success of her husband's Army career. The Tates are making their home in Waco, Texas. ARCOM Sp4 James E. Whitfield, to the newly assigned U.S. Army Hospital, Dugway, received an Army Commendation Medal for his service meritorious while in the Republic of Korea for the period Feb. 1973 to Nov. 1973. Hospi. tal Executive Officer Major Alvin Crocker made the presentation. New Specialists Darrell E. Burnett (1) and Gilbert L. Widows, both of the 65th Military Police Platoon, were promoted to the rank of specialist four in May 8 ceremonies at the Provost Marshal Division building. Promoted Kenneth Martinez, a cleric to the Security Office was promoted to specialist four in June 7 ceremonies presided over by Captain Robert J. Junlc, Jr, HHC assigned commander. Mako Hidcshima of the Comptroller Office was awarded a Certificate of Achievement prior to his departure from Dugway Proving Ground in June 5 ceremonies. William M.
