Douglas, Ut 84113 Friday, January 9, 970 .S College Level Night Classes Being Offered New Dimension For Retirement Program A new addition has leen added to the Army Retirement Services Program to give the program ail added personal touch and to lend additional assistance to those who have served their country for 30 years or more. The new part, of the program is a job referral system set tip to give the career soldier assistance in finding a job upon his return to civilian life. The referral system is run through post career counselors in conjunct ion with the Civil Service System and state employment agencies. As explained by Staff Sergeant Vincent P. M adore. Post Career Counselor, the job referral system is designed to provide the retiree with information on job openings in and around the community where e he plans to retire. Sergeant will contact Civil Service andor tlie Utah Stale Employment Bureau and set up an interview for the individual concerned, at a time convenient to that person. The agency contacted will then interview the retiree to find out his interest and qualifications. Tin's information is then sent to the related agency nearest tlie community where the man will lie retiring and a list of openings s sent to Uie individual. He can then contact tlie firms list- ed and get a head start toward his transitiim to civilian life. The program is going to lie set in motion here after the first of the year. Tlie Education ('enter has issued a last minute plea for all individuals who are interested in taking night college courses through Brigham Young University. Tlie classes, which are conducted here on post, are taught on liotli the undergraduate and graduate levels. Deadline for enrolling in the classes is next Wednesday. Five classes are definitely on die schedule for the winter semester. These include Accounting 20 1 , Engl ish 112, Analytic Geometry, Calculus, and Speed Heading. All of the classes are college credit courses except the speil read-- d ing class.
