Show AT AMERICAN DESIGNER SHOWS American fashion designers be yourself invite you to this spring. Be aware but dont be stampeded by what they (meaning others) wear. Designers think you want greatei variety in your wardrobe, because of your many-side- d And so, personality. tiiey offer you marvelous variety in their newest designs. This is the message coming from the American Designer Showings, presided over by Eleanor Lambert, being held this week in New York. THEIR INSPIRATION Personal taste and the human body, says Miss Lambert, are the only influences American designers recognize. Spring 1969 rings in many more pronounced changes fit, obviously molded or . . . swirling hems and cinched waists . . . fabrics that 'draw' a silhouette by firm texture or by d r i f t i n g softloose-with-cli- ness.
