After many centuries, when He spoke again to men and reintroduced this sacred ordinance He renewed the promise that all who worthily partake may have His Holy Spirit to guide and help them. That ordinance is a constant reminder that He died for all men; that He suffered on the cross that we might escape suffering for our sins if we but serve Him; that He had power over death and brought to pass the resurrection; and finally, that in truth He is the Son of the laving Cod, the Creator of heaven and earth. Saints He gave commandment to To the Latter-dameet together often and partake of the sacrament on His holy day. It has become customary in the Church therefore, to set apart one meeting each week as a sacrament meeting, the main purpose of which is to administei the emblems of his suffering. This is one of the few commandments the Lord has given with respect to the holding of meetings. It is therefore one of the most important gatherings held by the Church, and as such should be attended by the most people. It is not set apart for a selected few, but is for the entire membership of the Church and is as much intended for children as for adults. There is every reason why all members of the liurch should attend this service. Certainly,' novr of all times, we have need to remember Him and His power to save. As He makes bare His arm among the nations and the predicted tribulations strike the eartliwe need to stir up within us the recollection of His promises made to all those who keep His commandments; and then to reaffirm our determination to serve him.
