"Our company now has a new type residential air conditioner in production that will cut about $300 off the price of present units," said Mr. Norris explaining the rapid advances In air conditioning. "Costs of the new units will be between MO and $800 each for " smaller homes. This low price i ruts air conditioning within the reach of home buyers and we predict that within five years all new homes constructed costing $12,000 or more will have air conditioning as part of the beating equipment," he said. Mr. Norris said he looked for business to be as good in 1956 as a year ago. He noted that increases in sales of his company are 20 per cent higher in the eight western states than for the nation as a whole. This is an indication of the rapid population growth in the west, he said. Mr. Norris said his company is seriously considering locating a factory in Salt Lake City as soon as volume in the western states served by the Beehive city warrants it. Bennett The roads would be built by the Atomic Energy Commission. Last year, AEC spent $1,237,5000 for 122 miles of road in Utah. "In view of the importance of the raw material procurement program, I am anxious that we do all that is necessary to insure an adequate supply of uranium ore," Sen. Bennett told a House subcommittee. "Most of these roads are in areas and pass through rugged terrain," the Utah senator said. "These roads, which in normal conditions would be a proper state responsibility, become a burden which the federal government must share in order to meet our domestic uranium requirements." as 1 DRESSES Crease-resistan- year-aroun- , ROADS EA 1 - i i....,,.
