Engineer L. Peterson. of MI!. waukee. Wis., at the meting of the city commission reported that InstaliaLion of the Diesel engine wee complete. The auxiliary plant will be capable of furnishing more than ind kilowatts, of 474 horsepower. of electricity for the city. The City commission is confident that the main station in Logan can. you and the auxiliary etation will be able to adequately supply the entire city with power at all times of the year. Practically all of the city's customers have been on meters since Sept I's and work on the installing of aditional meters is being rushed. Eighteen hundred meters have been placed by Supt. IL C. Maughan and the city now has approximately 175 more customers than it had last year. Evidence that the installation of meters will save a great amount of power to the city is found in records of electricity used since Sept. On September 1 of thie year the power furnished by the city averaged 414 kilowatts. This was slightly lower than the films for the eame date last year. However. since last Thursday. when meters ware first used, the average amount of electrieity used 11Pac h day decreased from 414 kilowatts to 271 kilowatts on Sept. 5. On September 5. 1124 the average was 374 kilowatts and th peak load was 570 kilowatt.; whereas the peak load for Sept. this year was 490 kilowatts. has This saving in electricity come about despite the fact that the city is furnishing power to hearts 275 more customers now than during last year when the flat rate was being charged. The Diesel engine station will be formally opened Monday Sept. 12 and the public will be invited to visit the plant and inspect the It is likely building and engine. will be conthat a short program LOGAN. municipal - ;: .. . .....-.- ., :' -- - iMunicipal Plant Now Able To Handle All of City's Demands.
