hearing the con eon testing delegation from the state of new york we find that the otate is divided into two factions each having all the materials of a pe perfect party organization and each assuming to represent regularly the large pirt of ther tho democratic party of that slate state that each of said party i divisions ii has as held i a state con ven a regular call and has haa duly elected delegates to represent the state of new york in this conventi convention that the attitude of the factions is li precisely analogous to r th that t of the democrats of thad that state in 1856 that to unite the party at that time the national rational convention decided the delegation allowing each to cast half the tiie votes to which the 1 state was ivas bri entitled titled in a that convention that such action united the party barty in the state of newyork New York and eventuated in the election of a democratic ocra oera tic tie president we believe that a similar course at this time will result irl in a kindred success and we therefore je commend the adopting of the following resolution Reso resolved tved that the Faul faulkner fauikner hiler kiler branch of or the democratic
