A part of the mind-energy of the fruit grower should be given to the study of how to make his home more I Icasaut, his surroundings more sanitary sani-tary and beautiful. He is entitled to and he can have modem conveniences in his farm home if he will. As I ride through the fruit districts of the State and sec the many beautiful homes that are being built, I feel to say in my heart; "God! -bless the husband and father that is giving to his faithful faith-ful wife and devoted children these comforts while they can enjoy them." In closing I feel that I am expressing express-ing the sentiments of the fruit growers of the State when I say, "We deeply appreciate the work of the Agricultural Agricul-tural College, the B. Y. University, and other schools that arc taking up the work of agriculture and horticulture, horticul-ture, the Dcscrct Farmer and the press of the State for the support given us, the State Board of Horticulture Horti-culture with that grand old horticulturist, horticul-turist, Thomas Judd, at its head, to its genial Secretary, J. Edward Taylor, Tay-lor, andl the many individuals who have freely given their time and means to help those who till the soil to get better returns from their labors. |
