IDS Missionaries Accept Call Eider David Eric Griffin, son of Dewey L. and Dorothy Griffin, has been called to the South Dakota, Rapid City Mission. He will enter the MTC July 25. IHS FAREWELL will be July 14 Davis High School and the Raysville Seminary. He has attended Weber State. Elder Jaren W. Campbell, son of William A. and Sonya Campbell, has been called to the new Jamaica Kingston Mission. HIS FAREWELL will be July 14 at 10:50 a.m. in the Layton 17th Ward at 60 W. Gordon. He graduated from Layton High and Seminary. He is an Eagle Scout and attended Weber College last year where he was involved in the basketball program. LaFay and Ralph Johnson hosted a 50th wedding anniversary reception for Ralphs parents: Edna and George Johnson of Salt Lake City. Esther Clay of Fruit Heights is home recovering from surgery she underwent at Humana Davis North Hospital. Douglas Nef, son of Arnold and Leta Nef of Raysville, recently returned from his mission in Winnipeg, Canada. He spoke first at the Burton, Idaho Ward from which he was sent and enjoyed a welcome home there. The following week he reported his mission in the Raysville 12th Ward. Dale is presently convalescing at Clearfield Nursing Center from a stroke Deon Morlock has returned home after spending a month in England working as a professional genealogist. The Los Angeles native, raised in Orem, came to this area in June, 1941, when he was one of the first 100 mechanic learneds hired by the then-neHAFB. Mr. Blair worked at several subdepots around the country until being drafted into the Air Force in 1944, where he served as a combat in the South engineer for Pacific. As crew chief, his job was to work on them on the w (B-24- s) ground and fly with them in the air." HE RECALLS spending so much time in the air that once he was ample. DURING HIS long career, that spans 31 years civilian service and three active military service, he performed a variety of duties from working on General Doolittles planes to gaining the compliment from a Japanese general for ingenuity in creating useful personal items with which to outfit his air- craft. The Blairs, parents of five children, have been active members of the LDS Church, counting about 60 years between them in service to the youth. They recently completed two years as temple ordinance workers. AN EAGLE Scout, Mr. Blair spent 37 years in scouting including 13 as scoutmaster and assistant. THE FIRST of a series of concerts in Layton will be held at the Layton City Park July 13 at 6 p.m. A special appearance On The Green (by American Savings) at the Layton Hills Mall, July 17 at 6 p.m. The band, conducted by Floyd R. Hendricks, Capt. Hang plays a variety of music w hich is entertaining to all age groups. The group plays the gamut of music from Sousa to the Classics, Broadway to Classical Jazz. He was active in sports, playing on the Davis High soccer team for three years. He was active in scouting and served in leadership positions in his priesthood quorums. Hubby-F- m Wife-Noth- ing Robert Green entered the Mission Training Center last week, following a call to the Coventry, England mission. His parents are Darwin and Doris Richards of Raysville. Loretta McCollough, a recently returned missionary for the LDS Avice Wood traveled to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada over the 4th of July weekend to attend the mar- riage of her nephew, Mark Mathias. She was accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Edna Mathias and her sister, Lapriel Carlton, both of Ogden. Udell Green and Theron Wood returned recently from ten days of fishing on the Kenai Peninsula south of Anchorage, Alaska. They were guests of Russell Odd, formerly of Raysville. Church, underwent surgery for appendicitus. Dewitt Sorenson is home after suffering a heart attack. He spent a week at McKay-De- e Hospital and is recuperating at his home in Raysville now. Mr. and Mrs. James H. Duckworth recently traveled the entire state of Colorado. They spent a week visiting places like Rocky Mountain National Park, Royal Gorge, and other points of interest. Accompanying them were two grandsons, Steven Duckworth and Eric Jensen. Mary and Brian Tarbet are back from a trip to Germany which they took in June. Sarah Watkins and her friend, Amy Owens, took a trip to Hawaii for ten days. The two junior high school students were met in Hawaii by relatives of Amys and enjoyed a visit to the Islands. Sarahs parents are Mack and Julie Watkins of Raysville; Amys parents are Don and Dixie Owens, formerly of Raysville. Last call for Wyoming Downs racetrack Saturday, July 27.
