Show DAVIS REFLEX JOURNAL, AUGUST 22, 1984 ...j SOCIETY - LAYTON The Layton Senior Citizens will hold a dance Friday, Aug. 24 at 8:30 p.m. till p.m. at the Senior Citizens Center, 410 Wasatch Dr. beside the Layton Police Station. 1 1 o 50th Anniversary the LDS Church in the German-Austria- n Mission from 1929-3When he returned home he entered the LDS Church public speaking contest and won a scholarship to Brigham Young University. He graduated from BYU in 1935. During the second World War he was employed at the Naval Supply Depot in Clearfield. He has been a State Farm Insurance agent in Kaysville for 35 years. In addition to his mission, his church service has included Teachers quorum leader, MIA teacher and other callings. Merrill and Edna Wood will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a garden reception Saturday, Aug. 25 at their home, 519 E. Center, Kaysville. The event is open to all friends and relatives. They request that gifts be omitted. MR. WOOD was born in Fielding. Utah, the son of Edward A. and Millie Wood. The family moved to Farmington where he received his early schooling. He graduated from Davis High School, went two years to the U niversity of Utah and then filled a mission for MRS. WOOD was born in Farmington, a daughter of Benjamin and Lillie Hepworth. She graduated from Davis High School and LDS Business College. She has served in Sunday School, MIA and as teacher, organist, ward president, stake president, and stake board member of the Primary. They were married on Sept. 5, 1934 in the Salt Lake Temple. They have four children, Mary Ann Jamison, Provo; Susan Terry, Wed Mar-kay- Mr. and Mrs. Noall Bennett turned Aug. 21 from a 10 day combined business and pleasure trip. They spent time in Hong Kong, China and then flew to Japan where they visited their, exchange students, Kaori lino at Kumoto, Japan and Eriko Nagata at Tokyo. DEBORAH KAE HARRISON D. Harrison Announces Engagement Mrs. Carol Birkenfeld and her Mr. and Mrs. William Harrison of Layton announce the engagement of their daughter, Deborah Kae to H. Rulon (Trey) Stocking HI of Ogden. He is the son of H. Rulon Stocking Jr. of Boise, Ida. and Mrs. Rosalie Stocking of Salt Lake City. THE BETHROTHED couple will exchange vows on Aug. 29 in Layton West LDS Stake Center. graduated from and LDS School High Layton Seminary. She was listed in Whos Who Among American High School Students. She is a cosmetology student at Jesses Beauty College in Clearfield. bride-to-b- e- School, Mont, and attended Eastern Montana College in Billings. He is attending Weber State College, seeking a degree in business management. Both are attending LDS Institute of Religion at Weber State College. He--- daughter Carol Ann returned home from vacationing at Lake Tahoe, and the Redwoods in Northern California and up the coast highway to Oregon. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Forsyth and family and her mother Mrs. Alta Stuart attended the Alexander Stuart family reunion in Logan on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Dunford, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dunford and families, Elizabeth Dunford and Charlotte Dunford attended the cousins gathering at the summer home of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Cundick at the Smith Moorehouse area in the Uintas. graduated from Billings High THE BRIDE is the daughter of Ruth L. Campbell and the late Arden A. Campbell of 352 S. 975 E. , Layton. The groom is the son of Kent B. Peterson and Nyla Petersen of Ogden. The couple was honored at a wedding breakfast at the Lion House and a reception at the Layton 21st Ward. 1 re- THE prospective bridegroom Mary Jane Campbell and David Kent Petersen were married Aug. 17 in the Salt Lake Temple by Marion D. Mrs. Marcusen was in charge of the reunion. Recent visitors in Kaysville were Richard and Carol Kennah of Fairborn, Ohio. They were guests of his mother, Mrs. Lucille Kennah and brother Robert Kennah. They also visted with her two sisters, Mrs. Adeline Barton and children in Kaysville and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hazeldine and family in Layton as well as in Bountiful with her brother Mr. and Mrs. Roy Parker. If an irresolvable conflict existed an alternate class was substituted. Any necessary adjustments to the students schedule can be made on either Thursday, Aug. 30 or Friday, Aug. 31 during registration. Office personnel, counselors and department heads will be available to assist the students. ANY CHANGES made after Aug. 3 will cost the student $5 per change. Late registration for new students after Aug. 31 will also cost 1 $5.
