CHOIR CELEBRATES anniversary of the first prfoi mancc of the LDS Single Choir is Adult' : The IlMh now-bein- y observed . ALL began in the spiing of 1973 when LDS Church Pres. i IT Harold B. Lee. established the single adult church program. : The purpose was to reach and embrace the single adult members who Pres. Lee said "comprise some of the choicest members" of the Church. : SINGLE ADULTS from 5 yeurs were designated as Young Adults, those 26-t- o around 40 Young Special Interests and those 40 and older Special Interests. : Firesides were arranged, home evening planned, service projects initiated, socials enjoyed, dances held and in Dec. 1973 Church headquarters called for a choir of single 18-2- adults from Davis and Weber Counties to be formed. The choir's first assignment was to sing in the Salt Lake Tabernacle for the All Church June Conference. : THE SHOWCASE of Perform- - cast are Michelle Jensen, Mary Poppins; Kevin in the By NORMA PREECE 544-875- 1 Mrs. Beth Cutler of Centerville and her two children Paul and Louise accompanied her sister and brother-in-laMr. and Mrs. Robert M. Barton of Kaysville and their grandson Jason Taylor of Farmington on a 10 day vacation trip to California. They visited the Lehman Caves en route to California and were guests in San Mateo, Calif, of Mrs. Cutlers son, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Cutler and family. They also visited with a niece Jeanne Morley at Pleasanton, Calif., as well as time in San Francisco sightseeing and enjoying the beaches. Mrs. Hanna Jarman and her son Mike and granddaughter Michelle returned home from an 18 day tour of Europe. They flew to London, England and enjoyed sightseeing in that country and the famous Royal performance. Admission is $1 for children, $2 for adults and $4 for family. It gets cool at night so bring a blanket to sit on and a jacket to wpar. h JBill Peck plays a strong role as the father of a family, whose children are unmanageable. He plays a very convincing part and has a very fiije voice for the solos he sings. He is hot a newcomer to the theater, he has been in several outdoor pageants, the last being Music Man iniwhich he played a strong supporting role for the dishonest mflsic man. Bill is versatile as a singer dancer and very strong in drama. ONE OF the leads is played by Jean Nybo. Mrs. Nybo has been in Mr. and Mrs. Greg Hart of Honolulu, Hawaii is spending vacation time in Utah with relatives. He visited in Kaysville with his sister Mr. and Mrs. Jay Jorgenson and family and with his grandmother Mrs. Eva Webb and also in Ogden with his mother Mrs. Eva Chugg. Elder David Seager, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Seager of 673 E. 300 N., Kaysville, has accepted a mission call to the Minnesota-Minneapoli- s LDS Mission. He will enter the MTC on Aug. 9. Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. Day and their daughter Mrs. Mary Jensen and two children vacationed a week in California. They spent time in San Diego, Los Angeles and visited Disneyland and Sea World. ' Mrs. Doris Ball was hostess to the members of the DeLite Pinochle Club at the Country Kitchen Restaurant in Clearfield Wednesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Parker returned from California where they visited with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Baldwin at Santa Cruise. Then they traveled on to Lake Seely on the Panhandle of Idaho and spent a week boating, horseback riding, etc. En route home they visited in Great Falls, Mont, and Helena, Mont, and returned to their cabin in West Yellowstone for the remainder of their months vacation at Yellowstone National Park. Mrs. Raelene Brian flew to New Zealand to meet her son Elder Michael Brian who was released from serving an LDS mission to the Christchurch, New Zealand mission for 18 months. They toured the two islands of New Zealand for 21 days before returning home. Elder Brian gave his mission report on Sunday, June 24 in the Fruit Heights 2nd LDS Ward. En route home from New Zea- Max Ward were Jack and Famye Hazel of San Antonio, Tex. While here a mission reunion was held to honor Mr. and Mrs. Hazel at Harmons Restaurant in Salt Lake City for 36 guests who were former mission friends of the Hazels. Mrs. Francis Umpleby flew to Houston, Tex. where she met her land they spent three days Hawaii on the island of Oahu. Giles were Mr. and Mrs. Leland Lundberg and daughters Susan and Carolyn of Park Rapids, Minnesota. Also Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schir-ne- r of Vernal. Mr. and Mrs. Smith Evans took care of their three month old granddaughter Jennifer Moore while the parents Mr. and Mrs. James Moore and three sons Jeremy, Daniel and Paul of West Valley City vacationed for one week. They spent time at Disneyland, Sea World and also at Tijuana, Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Hatch of Provo were Sunday visitors of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Mrs. Doug Beatty entertained at a birthday party for their six year old daughter, Barbara and six of her friends on June 23. Mr. and Mrs. Steven Ashby and children returned from a 15 day vacation to California. They visited in Carlisbad, San Diego, Los Angeles and before returning home were guests of her brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Flint at San Francisco. Barker who has been confined to the Humana Davis North Hospital for treatment is convalescing at the home of his Mr. and daughter and Mrs. Stanley Webster. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Aldrich returned home from Montrose, Colo, where they spent time on a business trip. Mr. and Mrs. John Smith returned from Merced, Calif, where they visited with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Howe for one week. Their two granddaughters, Michelle and Deborah Howe returned to Utah to visit for six weeks this summer with their grandparents. They all spent Thursday at Park City. Mr. and Mrs. Clare B. Spack-ma- n vacationed for two weeks at Southern Utah, Nevada, San Diego, Calif, and the Los Angeles area. Houseguests of Mrs. Darlene Kettenring for three weeks is her son and family, Captain and Mrs. Charles Kettenring and children of Waldorf, Maryland. They will be visiting for three weeks with her and also Mrs. Chuck Kettenrings parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Christensen in Farmington. His next assignment will be at Bitberg, Germany. Captain Kettenring is with the U.S. Air Force. Mrs. Olive Bringhurst of Campbell, Calif, is visiting with her si- ster, Mr. and Mrs. George Heywood. On Friday evening they held a family dinner in Ogden for all the family members. Mrs. Nielson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schirners. Before returning home they visited the Dinosaur National Museum. A houseguest of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bramwell for one week was Mrs. Elma Beckstrom of Costa Mesa, Calif. She came for the birthday open house on Saturday, June 23 in honor of Mr. Bramwells 80th birthday anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hill of Logan were weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. Msuor. Mrs. Phoebe Weaver has been ill and confined to the Humana Davis North Hospital.
