Mrs. Della Goodman Tarter, of 245 FT 900 N., Layton, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 1985 at a local nursing home of causes incident to age. SURVIVING are eight sons and five daughters, Dell H. Higgs and Mrs. Dale L. (Jane) Smith, both of Bountiful; Junior W. Higgs, Tooel-e- ; Mrs. Donis A. (Bessie) Peterson, Sandy; Mrs. Donald L. (Bertha) Rosser and Mrs. William W. (Annie) Smith, both of Salt Lake City; Arvel H. Higgs, North 102, Mrs. Florence Ann Hardman Higgs. 80. of 26 Phillips, L.ayton. died Monday. Feb. 25. 1985 at the home of a daughter in Bountiful of cancer. SHK WAS born Aug. 26. 1904, in Osmond, Wyo.. a daughter of William Orson and Elizabeth Jane Hill Hardman. She married Christopher Moses Higgs on Sept. 4, 1920, in Farming-ton- . The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Fake LDS Temple. He died May 19. 1978. SHE HAD lived in Osmond, Wyo., for nine years. Sunset for six years and had spent the last 65 years in the Kaysville-Layto- n area. She attended public schools in Wyoming. SHE HAD been a member of the Kaysville LDS 6th and L.ayton 8th Wards. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Layton 31st W'ard. She had served as a temple ordinance worker, ward librarian. He and his wife cooked in their home and took a daily lunch to the elementary school children at the Syracuse Elementary, the first school lunch that was intro- duced there. He had been a custodian at the Syracuse 1st Ward and superintendent of the Syracuse Cemetery for many years. HE HAD lived in Bountiful, Syracuse and Clearfield. He attended schools in Davis County. He w as an active member of the LDS Church serving two missions, a stake mission from 1948-5- 0 in the North Davis Stake. SHE WAS a special dietician at the Lee Memorial Hospital in Marion, Va., for 20 years and had also worked at the Southwestern State Hospital for 20 years. She was reared and educated in North Carolina and Virginia.
