Mrs. Stayner is t1 former Susan Seoffield, Mrs. Ell Scol'field's daughter. Silver Beaver Award and Pow Wow stalls. She has completed Rendezvous Training and is presently working as a member of the staff. The California vacation indue many short trips to scenic sp and to visit grandchildren living other California cities. MRS. ARNOLD has attended Woodbadge Training and is working towards earning her beads. She has been elected permanent scribe for her troop. Besides working in the Cub Scout program, Mrs. Arnold has been involved with the youth in Girl Scouts, Brownies and the LDS Church MIA programs. SHE HAS served as an LDS Primary and YWMIA president and as a counselor and teacher in both auxiliaries. She was a counselor in the Mission MIA in England. When her sons and daughters participated in Little League baseball, Mrs. Arnold served as a VIRGIE ARNOLD JORDAN THOMAS PARRY IAN BECK Celebrating recent first birtndays are: John Joseph Love, son of John W. and Diane D. Virgie Llaine Arnold, a veteran of 18 years of adult scouting, received scouting's highest award, the Silver Beaver at a special recognition banquet held last week at Weber State College. THE TOP service award was presented to Mrs. Arnold by the Lake Bonneville Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Mrs. Arnold is presently assigned to the West Layton LOS Stake Little Philmont Staff. She has been to Philmont Scout Ranch and is trained in the cubbing program. SHE HAS been a den leader, den leader coach, a member of the pack committee, roundtable training Womens Association. She is a past president of a local chapter of the National Camping and Hiking Association. MRS. ARNOLD assisted her husband in getting his college education and earned herself a PHT Putting Husband Through) degree in the School of Applied Humanities at Weber State College, dmg JAYCEE of the month goes to Dewey Novotny for his service in organizing the Leadership Training Seminar. Dewey spent many hours in preparing and executing a five two day program with two special guests, Fran Brown and Lt. Co. James Cochran for one evening and informal discussion the second night. February calendar of events include: FEB. 13 "Wills taught by Steven Major, City Hall, 8 p.m. This is a joint meeting with the women. Should you have a will? What should go into it? These questions and more will be answered at our seminar. You will learn about the elements of a will, special provisions available to you, and what probate is and how to avoid it. The chapter will be supplying pizza while we plan for the upcoming events, including July 4th. We want you to attend and bring a friend if you can. The meeting will start promtply at 7 p.m. and end no later than 9. Help us to get spring fever. On Jan. 9 a presentation was made by Major William Gray from the American Red Cross. He showed the techniques for mouth to mouth resuscitation and the Heimlich maneuver. A comprehensive CPR training course is available for $10 per person. If interested call Steve Humphrey MRS. PARRY has served as a Cub Scout leader, den mother, director in the Webelos and Blazer programs, and was a leader in the district for six years enabling her to receive this Silver Beaver award. She is a member of Troop 316 in Syracuse and is currently serving as stake Blazer leader in the Syracuse Utah Stake. This year marks the 18th year of involvement in the program. THE presentation was made to Chad on Sunday, Jan. 20 during a special Eagle Scout Court of Honor in the Kaysville 12th Ward. He is a member of Troop 348. He has been active in scouting since he began as a Cub Scout, earning the "On My Honor Award" in 1983 and has been qualified for his "Duty to God" award. One experience Mrs Seoffield had in the Washington area was the opportunity to travel to many different locations and listen to her granddaughter who is a 9th grade student play with the Ml. Vernon High School band.
