Show SEPTEMBER 9, 1986 schools Editors note: This issue marks the beginning of a new era for the as we revive a popular feature of ours from the past. Each week, three correspon Reflex-Journa- l, dents from the high schools in our circulation area have been invited to submit a column of school news and happenings. Join with us in welcoming these three writers. The Davis Dartboard By SONYA SILL If you are able to read this, you survived the first two weeks of school. Congratulations! Isn't it great? They even threw in a holiday for us since we were such good sports at being the lucky school district to start earlier than the other districts. But who's complaining? Not me. Are you? To start things off lets talk about the big game August 29, in which we started our season by champs, the hosting the state Weber Warriors. Our players were psyched for this game and showed their awesome abilities as they defeated the Warriors 21 to 7. Way to go guys youre awesome! This season promises to be great. Our next game is at Ben Lomond, so watch-ou- t Scots our team is hot. The first annual tennis tennis court stomp, sponsored by the student body officers, was held directly after the game. It was well supported by the school and was a great way to wind up the week's activities. Sophomoric: the act of a sopho4-- A more often regarded as self assured, opinionated though immature. I got this out of my trusty Websters dictionary. (Everyone should obtain one of these, it is a common locker appliance.) Actually though this years sopho- mores have proven by their spirit that they are proud to be a Dart, and will carry on the tradition passed down from class to class at Davis, but of course no one can beat out the spirit of the Class of '87, the Seniors. The student body officers, better known as the Superdudes, have really made the beginning of this year great! I mean really dude, awetheyre like totally doing an some job, if you know what I mean. Well its time once again to hit the books. (This is becoming a bad habit.) Oh, how those teachers pile on the homework! As the cheer goes, ...Weve got Davis spirit. ..Weve got pride... has already proven that so ask yourself this question: What about your school? Well so much for farewells, (dont you think theyre stupid anyways?) till next week. Adieu. Layton Lancer Lines By RADON GATHERUM Well, all you Lancers, welcome d back to another year at Layton High! I hope you Sophod mores are adjusting to the block. In case you are still lost, here's some advice. Remember we go to different classes every day. If you still have problems, just ask a Senior, we will be glad to help. (Ha. ha!) Before we get into the week's events, I would just like to congratulate the student body officers for an excellent Welcome Assembly. Let's just hope that all the assemblies will be that good. Well, now its time for me to tell you about all the wonderful events that are taking place this week. Wednesday, the J.V. volleyball team has a game at Bountiful. Thursday Clearfield's golf team is coming to our school for a game and; Box Elders girls tennis team plays ours at home. The orchestra is going to perform at the State Fair Thursday. Good luck to all the fun-fille- eight-perio- teams. Friday, we have a football game at Woods Cross. Everyone should be at the game to cheer our team to another victory I am sure the game ! will be worth your time! Well, thats all thats happening this week, so make sure you get out to support our teams! Just a reminder, Homecoming is coming up, and its time to get a date for the dance! Everybody have a great week, and remember, no matter how bad things get, they could always be worse, you could be a sophomore. Kindergarten snack, vegetable sticks and milk. Recently I sat down wondering what the mighty Falcons of Clearfield High school would like to know as to what was planned for the coming weeks. This school year could get quite boring if all we ever did was homework. Maybe, I thought they would be interested in knowing that our spectacular girls volleyball team is going to participate in the Invitational against some of the best teams in the state. The students would be sure to want to support our lady Falcons in their quest for the second consecutive championship. Maybe they would CHS-LH- S Wednesday, Sept. 17, nacho supreme, galzed bismarks fillings, milk.
