Summerfest" Free Concerts UTC teacher gains awards will be held in the park outside Layton Heritage Museum on June 22 at 7:30 p.m. This Sundays "Concert-in-th- e Park will feature two families acts: The Rasmussen Sisters, and a father-daughtduo, Michael and Jeni Carver. Michael and Jeni Carver have performed extensively throughout northern Utah. They starred in last summers Utah Musical Theatre in "Annie and "Anne of Green Gables." They were both featured in Layton Arts Councils produc- tion of "Hansen and Gretel." Michael is in great demand as an Emcee and has also starred in Funny Girl" in Brigham City. and the late Bert T. Jerry taught seventh grade math Junior High School for four and years and then transferred to Utah Technical at the Wasatch one-ha- lf College. He has taught there for 13 years. While teaching, he took extra classes and received his Masters degree in 1971. He has recently been teaching an evening class on computer application in business and the University of Phoenix. His wife Sharon has also taught at the Technical College. Jerry served in the Taylorsville 8th Ward bishopric for five years ans is now serving on the High Council in the Taylorsville North Stake. He and Sharon have seven children, jw LAYTON -- - Last Monday even- of members of the Sons of Utah Pioneers and their wives participated in a guided tour of historic points of interest in ing a bus full Layton. The tour began with a stop on Layton's Historic Main Street and continued West on gentile past many of the beautiful, well-preserv- historic homes. Other historic places noted were the Holmes Creek Reservoir, the sites of several schools, the early LDS Church sites and other historic homes in the Layton area. Oma E. Wilcox acted as guide for the tour. She was assisted by one-roo- Janice Dawson and Doneta Gatherum from the Kaysville-Layto- n Historical Society and by many members of the SUP group. After the tour, the group assembled at the Layton Senior Citizens Center for root beer floats.
