Mr. Nichols will attend a univer- - Four of the contestants in the upcoming Miss KAYSVILLE'FH ENTRANTS - KAYSVILLE The annual Miss Kaysville-Frui- t Heights Scholarship Pageant will be presented on March 16 at 7 D.m. in the Davis High School auditorium. Cost for admission will be $2 for ages 12 and up. Children under 12 will be admitted free of charge. THE AUDIENCE will have the opportunity to see the 10 contestants perform talent numbers and participate in the evening gown competition. The winner will be announced at the conclusion of the pageant and prizes will be given. Miss Kaysville will qualify to enter the Mise Utah for Miss America scholarship pageant. THE CONTEST is sponsored jointly by the Kaysville Jaycee Women, Kaysville City and Fruit Heights City. Ten local merchants have donated money for the first place scholarship and gifts. Mrs. Susan Major is the pageant chairperson. TICKETS for the pageant can be purchased from contestants, from Mrs. Major or at the door. The nine contestants are Katrina Ann Hickman, daughter of Michael D. and Kathleen Hickman; Janine Calton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Calton; Sherri Michelle Seaman, daughter of Col. Raymond A. and Janice K. Seaman; Colette Van Drimmelen, daughter of Dave and Judy Van Drimmelen; Geri Lyn Baxter, daughter of Lynn and Carol Baxter; Julie Annette Tibbets, daughter of Jonathan and Mary Tibbets; Melinda Dent, daughter of Gerald and Carolyn Dent; Tamera Pearl Lindley, daughter of Dan T. and Urla B. Lindley; Lonnie Jean Nybo, daughter of Ron and Jean Nybo; Beccie Clark, daughter of Mrs. Carole Ann Clark. KATRINA Hickman has been sewing for nearly nine years. She plays the piano and has had five years of choir. She will wear clothes she has created especially for the pageant. Janie Calton plans to attend BYU next year and major in social work in order to help people better their lives. She has been a varsity cheerleader and the vice president of Pro Schola. Janine will present a dance-gymnast- ic routine for the ta- lent competition. SHERRI Seaman, a 1981 graduate of Davis High School, is now attending Weber State College where she is majoring in dental hygiene. She represented Davis County in the Miss Utah State Fair Pageant and was selected as a finalist. She is employed as a dental assistant but her ultimate goal is to become a dentist. Sherri has had extensive training in voice, dance and modeling. For her talent number, she will sing City Lights from the musical The Act. The goals Colette Van Drimmelen listed on her pageant application include graduating from college, marrying and raising a family. She is interested in business, computers and elementary education. Colette will give a reading at the talent contest. GERI LYN Baxter who has had training in drama, singing, piano and gymnastics will present a reading as her special talent. She received superior ratings in drama competitions, lettered on the Davis High tennis team and has received trophies and certificates in FBLA competitions. Her future plansinc-lud- e attending college and earning a degree in business and marketing. She is also very interested in speech therapy. Architectural design and interior design are fields of study Julie Tibbets hopes to pursue after she graduates from high school. The 18 year old senior at Davis High School has an impressive background in drama and choral music. She received the Best Actress Award from Davis High School in 1984. She was the leading actress in the high schools musical production of Heres Love." Julie is currently the Thespian Guild president. INSTRUMENTAL music is the major talent area listed by Melinda Dent who received superior ratings for her participation in a chamber music group. Melinda has been studying piano for five years and violin for seven years. She hopes to earn a BA degree in design with a minor in music. Melinda will perform a violin solo at the talent con- test. Police science is the field of study Tamie Lindley will take up after she graduates from Davis High School. She hopes to build on the police science experience to eventually enter the medical field. This ambitious high school senior collects music boxes, brass articles. She enjoys singing, dancing, playing the piano, exercising and silouette shooting. She received first place honors at the regional history fair and second place in state competition. Her talent number will be a dance routine. AN OBOE solo is the talent num- ber Lonnie Nybo has prepared for the judges and the audience at the Miss Kaysville-Frui- t Heights Scholarship pageant. She has received many honors in the music field including outstanding freshman, sophomore and junior band student, and superior ratings on oboe solos. She says her main success is in music. She has performed with piano, oboe, guitar and voice in both church functions and community functions. She likes to write songs and poetry in her spare time. Her future plans are to go to BYU and major in business with a music minor. Beccie Clark is a junior at Davis High School. She is a member of the school gymnastics team. She sings with the Limited Addition Show Choir. For her talent number, Beccie will perform a vocal solo.
